Bakery is coming

Well it seems CP is getting a bakery. Where will it be on the point? It says it will be open early to guests, but which arcade? Donuts are sounding really good right now....

Yeah I know which one now, I didn't see Walt's article when I posted the topic. I only saw the Coasterbuzz article. I know people were talking about the bakery a little while ago, so I thought they might like to know!

Ok I am sure people will jump down my throat but which of the 2 arcades do you think it will be in. Rob I don't know which of the two your thinking about but there is one that is by lotsapalooza and the big annex arcade. I know that the one by Lotsapalooza isn't right by Park Plaza but it is close to both Demon Drop and Park Plaza. My opinion is to use the one by Lotsapalooza because that one is smaller and junkier. Now the annex arcade is kinda big for just for Bakery.

It's the annex arcade...

I'll miss the Skeeball in there, I was always lucky at those, but not the ones in the colliseum. Oh well, I spose they make more on Krispy Kreme than on quarter games. I spose it's all in the name of "progress"

Is the "annex arcade" the one that is in the same building as the shooting gallery?

I completely agree Jayson, some of the easiest Skee Ball was in there. I almost had a perfect 450 score a couple years ago...I had the first first 8 in the 50, and then the 9th bounced out of the 50 into the 30.

Regardless, I can see why they would want to do something with that building because it was looking a little trashy and half of the stuff in the shooting gallery didn't work anyway.

I think the bakery idea is great, but I’m not so sure about the ‘Game Day Grille’. I think the Silver Dollar could use a new theme, but a sports bar? Maybe I’m not a typical male, but why would I want spend my time at Cedar Point at a sports bar when there are dozen with 10 miles of my home?

Yeah, but if you're going to sit down for a meal, why not a sports bar? There are a dozen pizza places within 10 miles of home, but Macaroni's is still a popular restaurant.

It's just another in a list of options that include fast food, pizza, seafood, buffet, etc. The sports bar type menu is popular and will give those looking for a place to eat something else to pick from.

Oh, man! I'm going to miss shooting that piano player in the butt...Or is that the other shooting gallery?

Will the Game day Grille be serving full meals? From the description on Virtual Midway, it sounds like they will just be serving bar-type junk food (chicken wings, nachos). If they are going to include hamburgers, fries, chicken sandwitches, etc., then it makes more sense.

Since when do chicken wings not comprise a meal?

Nacho's are one of the basic food groups..... Didn't anyone know that? ;)
I think the bakery will be a nice addition, and a great new avenue to explore for the park. I'm all about sweets, so of course I wouldn't complain! I will be sad to see the Silver Dollar go, however, because it's such a classic part of the park. But everything changes, and at least it's just rethemed rather than taken out. Either way, I'm sure the prices will still keep me out of it anyway.

bholcomb: There are four food groups: sugar, salt, fat, and caffeine. Depending on whehter chocolate has trace amounts of salt, it could be the perfect food with all four groups. Nachos have two, which isn't bad.

An order of the roasted nuts on the midway plus a coffee is, of course, the perfect meal--also covering all four food groups.
