background check

I messed up and got a retail fraud misdemeanor. Since I was 17 when i applied CP told me they didn't need to do a background check until i get down there. I got hired for a food runner at TGI Fridays on the beach. will they fire me because of it?

they might. i know from other job that alot of people wont hirer you because if that. you should have told them about it before hand!

If it comes up on your background check and you didn't put it on the application then yes they will fire you. All I have to say is read the application carefully and fill it out truthfully.

Are you still 17? From what I've heard...your criminal history kinda gets erased once you turn 18 so they might never find out unless you tell them...

well it was supossed to get taken off my record thats why i didnt say anything. i just found out yesterday that they decided not to. and no i just turned 18 in february. im not a bad kid at all i was just at a desperate place. im like gunna cry because i really want this job and idk what to do.

aww, don't cry. call your manager and explain your predicament. its better for them to know now than to wait until you show up and be told no. hopefully they will understand and let it slide.
