Nevertheless, we got there at 10:30 and decided that we should all go towards the back of the park before the rest of the park guests get back there. As we were walking past Millenium Force, we realized that it was closed so we were going to wait until eleven for the Freeway Passes. I figured that they wouldn't give any away if they didnt' know if the ride was going to open or not so I used my phone to call Cedar Point, they confirmed my thoughts, so we left the line. We walked further back under the tunnel and were stopped by the portrait artists who were going to draw all three of us for demo pictures for the rest of the day. So we did that and all of the sudden we saw the Millenium Force go and we were just looking at each other like "should we just walk away from these people" cause they took half an hour though it was a great portrait.
So on to the line and we only had to wait about fifteen-twenty minutes before we got a pass for 4-5. So we walked to the other side to see Top Thrill Dragster and they went crazy when they saw Dip N'dots. After they interviewed the poor Taiwanese girls and left her after she didn't have Raspberry Sherbert, we kept our way. Top Thrill Dragster was posted to open later in the day and we didn't want to wait in line with the rest of the Hopefuls.
So we took a ride on Corkscrew which is always a fun and brief little attraction. It's fun to just scream your head off above all the people who are just watching with their mouth gaping. So we got off and then we got a Freeway Pass for Magnum which was only a half an hour wait anyway. So we got the pass and went straight into the line. After taking a ride in the back row we went off to Gemini. Gemini was still packing alot of fun, it's just so smooth and it's mumble is just so comforting.
After we got off, we went to Mean Streak. This ride was different to the previous hundreds of times I went on it because this time I really paid attention to the track and the engineering of this ride. Wow! It was just an epiphany type moment as I stood in line and saw the precision that it was built, the massive size of the machine, the intricate track and height. This is a great Wooden Rollercoaster and they need to take off that trim and let that rollercoaster run its track. I never had so much fun screaming and playing around with the other guests. Our train really had a lot of fun and you could tell because I doubt that when they asked "How was your ride?" they never got a louder cheer since opening day.
By then, it was already approaching 1:30 so we started walking back towards Maggie and realized that we had alot of time to spare. So we played at the Gemini Midway and it was a mistake because we had to rent one dollar lockers for the small little basketballs we won. Then we went into the Magnum ten minutes early and got on, this time I rode in the Front seat. It was amazing, now i knew why people like to ride in the front seat, you have all these people following you and you get to see the Track dissappear beneath you. I just started screaming and going crazy because I was so excited. Through the whole ride. It's just such an amazing roller coaster, but it looks so simple.
The kids were hungry by now and we decided we needed to go to Silver Dollar (you know me) but we weren't going straight there. They are twelve year old boys mind you, and they wantd to stop at the "put your head on a magazine cover" and then they were just so amazed when they saw the virtual boxing. I was impressed by that also though in the Main Arcade, you get to box the computer and it catches your movement and everything.
We made it to Silver Dollar and waited ate for forty five minutes before we left to go put her leftovers in the car so that they could return to the boxing game. After I got back we went to ride Wicked Twister, they tried talking the lady into giving them a third Freeway Pass. One of them were so desperate that he scratched and licked the magnum pass off by the time we got on. That was an amazing ride but we left to use our Millenium Freeway passes at 4:30 and it was fun.
One of the kids never got to ride Mantis so we waited an hour, it was great because we met a group of people that were very congenial and talked to them through the whole line that only seemed like ten minutes. We had fun laughing and talking and all seven of us mixed up our group to go in the front row of Mantis together. Always one of the best seats the ride has to offer, we got on and off and parted ways with the group. Now I see why the people on this board say it is very inefficient loading, they don't let another train go until the next train returns. To many try to turn this stand up rollercoaster into a sit down and it takes them forever to load. So we got on and off and parted ways after laughing at our pictures.
At this point, it was 6:30 and the kids really wanted to ride Raptor, and I told them that I won't o with them, I'd meet them under the Corkscrew at 8:30. I was going to ride Top Thrill Dragster, one of them wanted to ride with me but the other really wouldn't let him because he wouldn't go on. So I got in line that started in front of the Grand Stands and about five minutes after I got into the queu line, it broke down. (I didn't even reach the Pepsi machines yet Mind you) and it was listed as a two hour wait. So I had nothing else to do but call my friends and listen to these twenty+ people who you might as well call teenagers. They were from California and were not going to go anywhere because this was the ride that the came for. So twenty minutes later the line started moving after a great bunch of folks left the line since it did a rollback and they just didn't want to wait any longer. But I made it to the other side of the vending machines before they shot off the first group of riders. But I got on the line after talking on the phone with friends in Toledo and I was off the ride by 8:20.
I was so amazed by the ride that I had to go on again, they kids were so jealous that they got in line to. One of them had to use the restroom so I had to wait until 8:50 before i got in line and we walked right into the queu. The weird thing is that they had this constant line that extended outside of the gates yet the entire metal queu wasn't completely full. The area behind the vending was two or three rows across at the most. But anyway, it was listed the the ride was going to be a 2 hour and a half hour wait, so what the hey. It broke down at th same place again just for a little longer and we started playing games on my phone, half an hour later it opened up and everybody started cheering and more people got out of line since it rolled back again. That's when I met two very nice people who we talked to about the ride. They did have alot of peircings, so much that it made the guys nipple peircing bleed on Raptor as he told me. So maybe they were there with your group Jeff? I don't know, you said something about peircings. But anyway, it opened and we were on and off the ride by 10:30. So we decided to get our stuff out of the lockers, cause we also had to put one on Millenium because we won George. But there was no line for Magnum, so we got on that. Twelve minutes before the park closed, we ran towards Wicked Twister and got two rides on it because there was absolutely no line.
By then the park closed and we had to go get our things out of the locker. So here is my overall ride report
Top Thrill Dragster = 2
Millenium Force = 1
Wicked Twister = 3
Magnum = 3
Mean Streak = 1
Mantis = 1
Corkscrew = 1
Iron Dragon = 1 (don't know where it fits in my report)
Raptor = 0 (but the two kids rode it)
Witches Wheel = 0 (one of the kids I was with rode it)
By 11:50 we got out of the parking lot and by 12 we were on I-80/I-90 headed towards our beds in Toledo ( though they fell asleep by then). I was so sleepy that I didn't get up until 11.
