Just wondering the average age of people living in the dorms (approximately). I won’t be able to work at Cedar Point until 2002 and I will be 23, and I was wondering if I might feel out of place.
Thanks

There are workers much older then that living in the dorms. There's no way you can feel out of place trust me.
Well if it helps I'm 22 and plan to live in the dorms this season.....Most of the people I know are around the 21 year old category....So no you won't feel left out or out of place...I just have a small question: why do you plan to wait so long to come work with the rest of us? :) :)
I would love to work at CP this summer, but I have to finish my 3rd year. I wish I looked into the internships a little harder last summer because it would have been perfect. Since I am in the co-op program, everything is shifted back 4 months so I don’t get my degree until August 2001.
I can’t complain. I love my job and the company where I work, so who knows if I will ever get a chance to work at CP.
In case you are wondering, we still have grade 13 in Ontario. :)
FYI-----you would be surprised how many of us put off graduating and working for a good company or quitting a big paying job just to come back for another season.
No joke SkyrideChic...maybe we should take a poll this summer of people who avoid life and career for just "one more summer at the Point." I can think of about 6 or 7 just off the top of my head...but I am sure there are plenty more! :)
By the way Xopher, if all works out well I will be living in Bayside this summer, and I am 23. Lived there when I was 21 too and it was a blast!

Hi. I've never posted here before, but I thought I'd just toss this one in. I just turned 30, and this will be my first season at Cedar Point. Both my wife and I are giving up pretty good paying jobs and moving halfway across the country to do this...and we can't wait. :o) We'll be staying at Bayside.
Welcome to the family Yellow and Mrs Yellow too! Maybe we will be neighbors! :)
Where will you be working?
Heather a poll again? I think we had that covered over at cppride. Anyways I don't think everyone wants to hear my story again.
Hi Mr and Mrs Yellow. I just want to welcome you to our happy little family. I guess I'm being the nosy one tonight but I have a question for you guys. What is it about cedar point that both of you are willing to drop your life and move across the country to work here at 30? I mean I'm 22 and haven't even started the "real life", but for you guys to drop that and come here just makes me curious. Anyways if you have any questions feel free to post them up and I'm sure everyone would try their best to answer your questions truthfully.
So Xopher do we have you convince yet. I'm telling ya you'll never get this kind of experience anywhere. Keep us posted.
I think working at CP would be an unforgettable experience. While I am writing exams and going to class this summer I will be thinking about all the fun I will be missing. Maybe I will defer my last semester and move to the U.S. to have a memorable summer. :)
My best friend and I were hired as ride ops for MF! She is 19 and I'm 18. Are we gonna feel out of place at cp cuz were younger than the average 21 or not?? Thanks!!
There is probably about the same # of 18 and 19 year olds as there as 21 year olds. It's like college, no one knows how old you are anyway.

Sorry about the confusion soccer5, but as animalsrules stated no one knows how old you are or really care that you are younger/older.
I will be 25 when I start. I won't feel out of place. I enjoy the experience more and more every year.
Why drop everything to work at CP? Well, the answer is a bit complicated. Just some of the factors: We're from different parts of the country, so somehow it feels like we could live anywhere. We're both ACE members, so CP is obviously appealing. We've both worked similar jobs before, and miss them. We have no kids, pets, or property to hold us where we are now. And we're both the kind of people who don't just want to do a thing, we want to fully experience and "get inside of it." Basically, we don't just want to *travel* to different places, we want to *live* in different places (if that makes any sense). Plus, I guess you could say that we're...well...a bit bored. So why not do something wacky? :o)
Mrs. Yellow will be working as a waitress at Macaroni's. As for me...well, it looks like Soccer05 has stolen a bit of my thunder on this one. I'll be working on that big blue thing they're openning up this year. :P
I'll agree with the posts about "one more summer!" I'm graduating in a April with 2 degrees - one in finance the other in music. What do I do? I'm back for another summer!! Who knows if this will even be my last one??

Sorry Mr. Yellow for stealing your thunder! We look forward to seeing you at Millenium Force!!!
Ya know, Mr. Yellow (that reminds me of Reservoir Dogs) I'm frankly a little jealous. My wife and I - in our mid thirties, with way too many responsibilities, couldn't possibly do what you're doing. But don't think we don't find ourselves day-dreaming ... we both have insanely stressful jobs and think about escaping to CP every day. Luckily, I got some of this out of my system when (sigh) I was younger, and ran the old Sky Streak coaster at now-defunct Boblo Island - best job I ever had. But, man, to work at the world's greatest amusement park (if I could turn back time). So, Mr. & Mrs. Yellow, go for it. Have a blast. I look forward to putting myself in your capable hands this summer on MF (which, by the way, is FIVE TIMES the size of the Sky Streak. But I still had fun).

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.
Hey, I too will be on MILLENNIUM FORCE this summer, Its my 21st birthday a couple days after I process in, so everyone has to be at Louie's May 14. Its a Cedar Point tradition for whomever is having a 21st birthday, to have all their crew and best friends at the bar that night, see you on process day! But I'm not a first year like SOCCER 05, I'm a "middle-aged" employee with 3 seasons in, not quite a lifer with 4 seasons.
