Avatar Wont Work!

Ok I am getting very agervated. I have a picture that is 80 by 80 in pixels and 4k's and it is in GIF format. I try to upload it for a Avatar but it keeps saying that it cannot be bigger then 90x90 and more then 5k's! I am under 5k's and way under 90x90 can someone help me because I am getting very mad lol.

Well obviously it's not the right size. Computers are pretty good with math.

I didn't say you were, but it's obviously too big then in terms of file size.

There does that look good?
One thing to note (it also took me quite some time to get my avatar to work), sometimes resizing in Photoshop doesn't REALLY make it the size you think it is. I ended posting my icon on another page and looked at properties to figure out what Photoshop said and what the actual size was were two different things.

Admittedly, I'm not a computer tech/wiz, but I had this problem once before on CampusFish.

Sorry to bring back an old topic but I don't have photoshop or anything that can convert an jpeg file on my computer to a GIF file. Is there a website that I can find a way to do this on?

you can do it with microsoft paint, just open it in there, then save it as a gif. It will loose some color though

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but when I try to upload an avatar I get this message:

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Inetpub\pointbuzz\avatars\8732.gif" is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via , the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET write access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

Is there anyway to fix this or is my avatar screwed up?

Should be OK now. Give it another whirl.

Works now. Thanks Jeff!

Wait, scratch that. Does it take a while for the avatar to kick in? I get the your account has been changed page, but I still have my avatar.

Scratch that one, it works.

OK, so now that you can change it, why don't you change it to something that isn't going to annoy the crap out of everyone that sees it?

That was just the first thing I had. I'm going to find something different. Don't worry. It's just last time, I had trouble.

*Better now?*

Hey Jeff, I read all of the above, but I am still having a prob. My avatar won't load, I am way under on both sizes, 75 x 75 and only 3.5k. I used paint to convert to a gif. Still no good, any ideas? I have tried with 4 or 5 diffarent pics, none of them worked. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I also have the same problem with a gif of 38x38, 1.43kB. Tried uploading it days ago, with the same problem as the thread starter.
