August 6th and 7th [Really Long-Pictures!]

Sorry this is so late, I've been really busy with school starting soon. So I went to Cedar Point this past 6th and 7th. Overall the trip was awesome. I went with my mom and my best friend. We traveled almost 13 hours from Massachusetts to get to CP and it was worth it. This trip was full of firsts for me.

Day 1
We got to the park fairly late, around noon time and parked in the Soak City lot. Our first ride was Iron Dragon. The wait was a little under 15 minutes. The ride was a nice and relaxing start to our day. My family and I always start with this ride as a tradition since this was not only my first "big" roller coaster, but also my 3 other siblings first. After Iron Dragon, we walked on over to Power Tower. The sign said the wait was 15 minutes but we waited about 2 minutes for the shoot up side. This was my first ride on Power Tower, and boy was it amazing! The view from the top is just beautiful and it really got my adrenaline pumping! Next we walked over to Corkscrew with a 20 minute wait. This was yet another first for me. We sat in the front and had a blast. The corkscrew was a little painful because I forgot to take my earrings out so I basically got another piercing on my neck...After Corkscrew, we watched Top Thrill Dragster for a few minutes then went to Magnum. The wait was about 20 minutes and an extra 5 for the front. My first ride on this was amazing! The drop was so exciting and the airtime was awesome! A little rough but I lived! After we got off and bought our picture, we headed on over to Gemini. We waited maybe 25 minutes for the front on the blue side. I love this ride! I have ridden it multiple times before but all of those times happened to be at night, so this was my first daytime ride and it was great. Unfortunately though, we lost...After we got off Gemini we went to go get some delicious fries and a soda from Happy Friar. After our little snack, we went to ride Mean Streak. The wait was a little more then a half an hour. This was my first time on it and boy was it a mean ride. I have a bruise on my back and along the top of my chest. I feel bad for women with bigger chest's. They must be in pain after this ride. I know I was! After that we checked the wait time on Maverick, and it was an hour and 45 minutes so we decided to skip it for now. Our next ride was Cedar Creek Mine Ride. We waited maybe 10 minutes for the front and had a fun ride. The first drop wasn't as fun as it was when I was 6, but I enjoyed it. Next up was Skyhawk. This was my first ride on it, so I was pretty nervous. We waited about 20 minutes. I agree with all of you that this ride is way too short! I loved it and had so much fun. It would be a super awesome ride if the cycle was longer. So after Skyhawk, It started to get a little bit hotter. Since we were right there, we went on Snake River Falls twice since the ride was a walk on both times. It is still a great and refreshing ride after all the years. Next, we went to Thunder Canyon while we were still wet and rode it once. Of all the times I have been on that ride, I don't think I have ever really gotten wet. I never go under the water falls and the water very rarely comes up the side of the raft an gets me. Other then that, I liked the ride. We all decided we wanted a break, so we just walked around the little shops in Frontier Trail until we came to the end and found ourselves walking to the front of the park. We went on Blue Streak. The wait was a little under 10 minutes. I still love this ride after so many years. The second hill before the turn-around has the best airtime IMO. After Blue Streak, we got some ice cream from Toft's and then proceeded to Giant Wheel. The wait was about 20 minutes. While in line, it rained very gently for a few minutes, but we didn't see any rides close. The ride was relaxing and peaceful. While on the ride, I realized that the last time I was on Giant Wheel was when Millennium Force was only a few months old. After capturing many nice pictures and getting good footage of multiple rides, we got off and went to Wicked Twister. The wait was about 20 minutes and an extra 15 for the front. This was my first time on the ride so I was really nervous and excited! The ride was amazing. The launch is so cool! It was so neat not being able to see what was in front of us because of the darkness at night. After getting off, it was about 9:30pm and we wanted to squeeze a few more rides in so we went to Demon Drop. The wait was a little over 15 minutes. This was also a first for me. The drop was really cool. I lost a bit of the change in my pockets but other then that, the ride was nice. The only thing I would change though, are the restraints. When they come down, they really hit you hard. I would hate to be a guy on this ride...And even after the restraints locked down to the right position, the kept on going further into my stomach during the course of the ride. But, other then that, it was okay. By now, it was almost 9:50 and we really wanted to get a ride on Maverick, so we started to run but of course, my friend had to pee. So that cost us another 5 minutes. After the pee break we booked it and right as we got to the line, the lady looked at us with a frown and said we just missed the cut off time. So after stopping back to watch the last few minutes of the fireworks we went back to our hotel for the night.

Day 2

Our second day at Cedar Point started at 11:30. We started on Woodstock Express, just to add to the count. It was a walk on but a screaming kid punched me in the stomach when I was going to sit down. Dang! That kid is going to be a wrestler one day, he hurt me so bad! Anyways, the ride was fun, but I didn't bother to buy the picture. Next we got on the train, or the Top Thrill Choo Choo, as the ride op says! We rode the whole circuit. It was fun and Boneville gets me every time. After the train we went to Cadillac Cars. It was fun but I learned that I am a horrible driver. Hopefully I improve before I get my license! After the cars we got on Skyhawk again but on the opposite side. Which side you go on really does make a difference. Again, I liked it, it is my new favorite flat ride. Next comes my first very big ride, Millennium Force. The wait was a little under 30 minutes. It was fricken awesome! The airtime was so great and the ride was really smooth. We ended up buying our picture then taking a walk over to Iron Dragon. We rode again but somewhere towards the middle this time. Fun ride, very relaxing. Since we were in the area, we went on Power Tower again but on the shoot down side this time. The wait was longer then the first day, about 10 minutes but it was a fun ride. I like this side better because of the view and the butterflies you get in your stomach at the top.
After we rode the Skyride we went to wait in line for Wicked Twister. I wanted to ride in the back but my friend wanted the front so I just went to the front with her. It was the same as the first day except you could actually see since it was bright out. After Wicked Twister we went on Ocean Motion. I usually love these types of rides, but this one has to be the most boring one I have ever been on! The one at my county fair was more exciting and it was smaller! We only waited a few minutes, so it didn't waste to much of our time. After taking pictures with Snoopy in Planet Snoopy it started to get really hot so we decided to go to Soak City. As soon as we stepped out of the bathroom with out bathing suits on, the sky got really dark and it was really cold and windy. We went on a few slides, the wave pool and the rivers but then decided it was to fricken cold so we went back and got dressed. After we got dresses, guess what happened. It got really hot all of a sudden. Ugh...After out little weather mishap we went back into the park and rode Magnum again in the ejector seat. It was really fun and I now have bruises on my legs and can't wear shorts without someone asking me if I got into a car accident or if my parents abuse me. Thank you Magnum... After that we went to go get some food, I had a hot dog on a stick and my friend had some chicken finger things. God, the food there is really expensive. Okay, this is where all of our fun began. We got in line for Maverick and the wait was an hour and 30 minutes, so we figured we would have enough time to ride Maverick and then ride a few rides afterwards and leave. Wrong! We got in line and it started to sprinkle a little after about 15 minutes of waiting. They didn't close yet. Trains were still leaving full for another 15 minutes. That was when empty trains started to go and then, the dreaded announcement. The ride was closed. We stuck it out for another 30 minutes. A lot of people left so we were getting really close to the area of the queue by the photo store place when it started to rain a little again. But this time there was also lightning. We all thought it was the fireworks starting early, but it couldn't have been, It was only around 9:15. That is when we overheard a conversation between a lady and an op. She said that "No trains are leaving our station with lightning that close!" So we waited another 15 minutes, and that's when it got ridiculous. We saw Mean streak going for the first time all day, with a full train. We saw Skyhawk going, full of people. Then the biggest disappointment, we saw TTD going with full trains. Another 10 minutes passes and the ride was finally open again. We got to the train very quickly. It was around 9:50 when we left the station. Boy was that wait worth it! Maverick was awesome!! I would have ridden it again but wanted to ride one last ride. After we got off the ride it was about 9:57. That's when we booked it and ran all the way from Frontier Town to TTD Midway. We made it to Top Thrill Dragster with minutes to spare. We waited in line and watched the fireworks which were very pretty, for a half an hour. We wanted to ride in the front but the op said to chose another seat, so we went to the second row. We were the second to last train of the night, the purple train. When I sat down in that seat and buckled in, all my nerves came out. I was freaking out about my first ride. My hands were shaking and my knees were trembling. The worst part was waiting to be launched and watching the train in front of you go. But the ride was...It was amazing! The launch was so cool! All my nerves disappeared with the launch. The slight pause at the crest was very scary since it was so dark and we could not see anything. The drop was really cool. The brake was not as sudden as it looks in videos. After sitting in the car for 15 minutes while they put all the cars "to bed" as my friend says, we finally got out and bought our picture. What an end to an amazing two days at the best place in the world, Cedar Point!

Pro's:
-Pretty clean
-The food was okay
-People were smoking in the zones
-The ride op's were VERY nice and funny! Prop's to you! Also, If Joshua (Mean Streak Photo), Dustin (Top Thrill Dragster) or Terris (Maverick) come on this site and see this, Good job!

Con's
-What's with so much PDA? I mean, I was bumped into at least 4 times by couples making out and they didn't even stop to say sorry. I understand if you love someone, but do you have to do your lovin' all up in my business!?!
-The food might have been nice, but the price was pretty bad

Firsts
-Power Tower
-Corkscrew
-Magnum
-Mean Streak
-Skyhawk
-Wicked Twister

What a fantastic trip report with such wonderful pics.

I am sure you hate people commenting on your age but you are so young and yet know so much about the coasters that I think you will be a theme park genious when you are an adult.

Sounds like you had a great time. I love your pictures at sunset. I had not thought to take any at that time of day and with the season ending the park is not open late enough for me to do so.

Did you mention which hotel you stayed at?

I am glad it was such a good experience and you had such great air time.

I'm going out to get some air.

Thank you! I don't mind comment's on my age, but if it is about bad things, then I care! Haha. I did not mention the hotel. It was a tiny little Howard Johnson(I think), that was right down the road. Not the best, but I was only in there to sleep!

It was your first time on Magnum? Glad you liked it. I remember my first time on Magnum. I think that is when I became addicted to CP. :) I'm surprised that the blue train won on Gemini. Congradulations surviving Mean Streak. lol. I have only ridden it once, but it beat me up. So I have never ridden it again. I get really nervous for the launch on TTD too. I think if it didn't have that launch, I wouldn't be so nervous. Have you ever ridden Raptor? I noticed that you didn't in this trip. If you havn't, your next trip you have to. It is amazing, and it literally does feel like you are flying. Cute pics!:)

Thank you! I have yet to ride Raptor. I like inversion's, but not that many. I'll probably ride it when I go next. I might go again during Halloweekends with my cousin.

I used to be afraid of coasters that went upside down. But then I rode Raptor. It is amazing. Just make sure you don't close your eyes. If there is one coaster at Cedar Point that I am not nervous to ride, it would be Raptor. It is amazing. You really do feel like you are flying. You have to try it! If you don't like it, then you don't have to do it again. But I promise that you will love it. If you can handle Wicked Twister, then you will have no problems with Raptor. :)
