So my trip report won't be as cool as the others, as frankly, I didn't do much Friday.
I guess I need to back up to Thursday, because on Thursday I woke up around 10:00 am and went to Bay City before going to OZZfest 2005 in Detroit. (It rocked by the way. Dear Penthouse...)
After OZZfest, I returned home to Lansing in time to deliver my paper route, then to drive my friend Matt to the airport before making the 180 mile 3 hour trek to Sandusky.
So, I was getting pretty tired by the time I was in the city of Sandusky, and I was thinking I could crash for an hour before I went into the park for Tony's 1000th ride at 10 am. I guess it was about 8:15-8:20. That wasn't to be, however, as I almost totaled out my truck on Perkins Ave. Stupid idiot Ohio drivers. ;) Anyway, my adrenaline started pumping and I actually started shaking a little bit.
So I stayed up, and headed into the park around 9:30 and headed to MF. I got to the train tracks, and Tony and Tony Clark and Bryan Edwards walked up behind us, and we headed over to Millennium Force Entrance. Nobody else showed up, and Bryan was told we could only have 3 people in the train, so it was decided it was Tony, Tony Clark and me (Bryan is scared of heights.)
After waiting for Diva and Oz, we were escorted up the exit where Tony waited for his beloved Red Train. We got in and went forward to an abrupt stop. Being the unaware retard that I am, I didn't realize something was wrong for about 20-30 seconds. Then, as documented in the other TR's, it was like an hour and a half or so to 2 hours before the ride actually came back up.
So we rode Force, and Tony Clark and Tony were trying to make 1000 with their fingers for the ORP... Unfortunately, we are all dumbasses and wrote 0001 for the camera instead of 1000. Anyway, stay tuned to the CP Blog as it may be a featured item here in the near future!(Hopefully!)
Anyway, I went to go nap, but it was too hot. So we (my ex gf and her mom... dont ask) went to Sheffield Lake and got some food, and came back. I slept for about 20 minutes in the van, thats all.
Then I tried to sleep, but couldn't some more. So my ex gf's mom suggested we go to Bubbles in Soak City, and I said ok. Recently turning 21, this was the first chance I got to go to bubbles. I liked it, but I don't drink. I had a diet Pepsi while she had some drinks to make her feel realllllly good. I liked the hot tub a lot as well.
Anyway, after she was pretty well intoxicated, we went back into the park to use our MF stamps. Then we rode the train back to Frontiertown with Tony and Brian. Tony still owed me a Cheese-on-a-Stick from a bet during the Michigan State/Duke Basketball game last spring. My ex gf's mom was a little intoxicated, and had us all laughing so hard on the "choo choo train"
We went to Happy Friar, and I want to say that I had some real great service. I was thoroughly impressed. The guys name was Miles, I believe. He is from the Czech Republic. He served me and Tony our Cheese-on-a-Stick's and mine was mostly bread with very little cheese. I went back up, and he quickly put a new one in the friar for me, and served me ice water while I waited. The new one was ready in no time, and he happily served it to me with a smile. I hope someone from the foods department reads this, and lets him know that he gave me some of the best counter service ever at Cedar Point. He then gladly gave the rest of the people in our group(because I'm an inconsiderate selfish jerk who thinks of no one else :)) ice water as well.
After that, I headed out with my ex gf's mom (I was the DD.) and I went back to the campgrounds and took a couple hour nap before heading back to Michigan.
All in all, I got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep (broken at best) and was awake for a good 42 hours or so, and traveled about 900 miles. It was a good 2 days. :)
"0001"... yeah, a lot of people have that ride count. What's so special? ;)
Great TR. I always enjoy one that doesn't cause my eyes to strain from punctuation and spelling errors...
I skipped Ozzfest this year for a trip to CP instead. Good decision on my part though since Ozzy didn't even perform on the date I would have gone.
I am going to see Megadeth amongst others this week at Gigantour though. This is the first time I've had a chance to see them (and probably the last) too!
0001?! Ugh, Newbs! ;)
