August 3rd-Glad I am a Passholder?

There are days I wonder, If I wasn't a passholder, how upset would I be going to Cedar Point today....

I said it at least 3 times, "Today is a passholder day"

I have read people getting mad that this broke down, or that broke down. Maybe I was observant today, or maybe, just maybe I went on a really bad day for rides to stay running.

Did I have a good time, definately, I was with my family doing things we don't normally do, hitting rides that were running, watching shows, I even got (2) rides on woodstock express, which I have never ridden before...Got my wife on Wildcat, her first time ever, and she WILL ride it again. My wife rode Gemini after over 30 years, -And she may never ride it again-, she is still scared of it...

This is what went down today. Dragster, only 15 minutes into Early entry, we were 3 cars from loading. We waited another 30 minutes, it still wasn't running. At 10:19am I noticed it finally started running.

At 9:58 got to Magnum, short line waiting before 10am.. listened to music for the opening of the park, thinking, "they are going to open," NOPE. A worker walks out, turns the sign around and says we are down for mechanical reasons.

So off to Tilt-A-Whirl...Yeah! my first ride of the day, Then gemini, getting rough. I forget what we did next, I think Wave Swinger, then through frontier town. Off to Wildcat, Ate lunch...(I love the grilled hotdog stand near Dodgems, $5.25 for a dog, chips, and 12oz pop)

Now off to Windseeker, only 2 loads away, and guess what, yep, We are down for mechanical reasons, look up, and lots of people stuck at the top.. (why am I laughing, I didn't get the opportunity to be stuck up there)- Well, we left the line, went to Disaster transport, got off the ride, and Windseeker still hasn't unloaded the passengers, still halfway up the tower, nearly 20 minutes later. WOW.

Off to Challenge Park, we wanted to get some miniture golf in. Passholders get buy one get one free, according to the website..."Not for 36 holes you don't, only 18 holes, at least that's what the guy in the booth said.. Oh well, 18 holes it is" That was fun.

Somewhere in there, MF got stuck on the hill. I thought they were unloading the train, but I guess they were just talking to everyone in the train. It was creeping up ever so slowly, with people using imaginary paddles to try to get it to go faster, finally the train crested the hill, and the full train made it around the track. I don't know how long it was down, it was running later that day tho.

Went to the arcade, ended Cedar Point by getting my wife to ride Wildcat with us, she really liked it. Then went to DQ for flurries, and a meal. Got outside and it was pouring rain... Glad the rain stayed away until we were done.

So good day for a Passholder, don't know if it would been so great if it was my only visit of the year...

I was out there for a few hours Wednesday evening, and the only closed rides I noticed was Skyride and Windseeker. Guess I got lucky.

It's been that way for a while I guess, or at least that's what I was told last year. Not really sure what the difference is, but oh well. You just reminded me I have yet to get a round of Challenge Golf in this season. I need to get that on the to-do list, along with a day at Soak City.

I have made it to Soak City this year, kinda... Me and my daughter had a day at the Point with a planned trip to Soak City, but she was just at Soak City the week before, and was not in the mood to get in the water.

So we got our camera's out, and started videoing the slides, the wave pool, and taking pictures. We got some great footage of Magnum from many different angles.

Stayed about a half of an hour, and went back into Cedar Point to finish our short day, which ended about 4pm.
