August 2nd

It was a pretty good day at the park yesterday. We pretty much rode everything we wanted too...

Got to the park a little after 10 and and went straight to Raptor, yeah I know that's where everyone goes when they first enter the park but we decided to go for it anyways. We probably waited about a half hour to 40 minutes, but when walking off the ride we noticed the line was even longer than before. Too long for my taste...

Next we went over to Disaster Transport, down for mechanical reasons, so we walked over to Windseeker. Waited maybe 15 minutes. This line goes by very quick and has great capacity. I loved it too! Very fun, nothing thrilling but a good addition to the park. Love the music too. Next we walked down to the Iron Dragon midway and rode Iron Dragon. They really need to go back to three trains on this one, the line was stretching down the midway! Waited probably around a half hour for this one... Next we decided to go to lunch at that Drive-In place... and hey I noticed a good deal here! A mini corn dog basket you can get with fries, mini corn dogs, and a drink for like only 5 bucks. I got that and a milkshake (which did not count as the drink unfortunately).

After lunch we went over to Millennium Force and probably waited maybe a little over an hour. Great ride as usual. Next we decided to hit up the water rides since it was getting so hot. We rode Shoot the Rapids, which was like a 10 minute wait, then we rode Thunder Canyon which was like a 5 minute wait. After those two rides we walked to Mean Streak and rode that. It just re-opened after a break down, so we only waited like 5 minutes. Next we walked to Maverick and waited about an hour. Awesome ride as usual. After Maverick we rode Paddlewheel and waited maybe 5-10 minutes.

After Paddlewheel we walked over to Top Thrill and waited maybe an hour. Saw something kind of shocking... You know when the ride breaks and there is a train about to launch on the launch track and they'll shut down all the christmas tree lights and sounds? So that happened and we figured great as were about to go on, this happens. Well then... they just randomly launched the train with the riders! No warning or nothing... Thought that was kind of weird... Anyways though, had a great ride on TTD!

Next we walked to Disaster Transport which was running again and waited about 35 minutes. After that we went to Dinner at Friday's in Hotel Breakers. It was pretty crowded and waited about 30 minutes for our table. Was worth it though, the food is always great there! After dinner we headed back into the park and actually the crowds really cleared. The midways still seemed crowded but the lines were short... So we rode Magnum, Gemini, and Mine Ride and then took the train back to the front of the park and began to head out. It also started to rain as we were walking out so we left at the perfect time.

Overall a very good day!

This happens occasionally. The lights and sounds aren't actually shut off, but rather they time out. It most commonly occurs when the pumps are trying to stabilize pressure.

No big deal, I had such a launch a few years ago. I felt the brake release but didn't have time to warn my newbie partner, who was a bit freaked out!
