August 29th and 30th

As I sit here at my computer desk still wearing clothes damp from the pouring rain that fell onto the Point today, I figured I should write a trip report. We left Windsor around 6am Monday morning and got to the park around 9:10, checked in at Light House Point and our cabin was ready for us. My sister and I got into the park around 9:30 and headed to Dragster right away, while my mom and aunt stayed in the cabin and unpacked a bit. The line wasn’t that long, and trains were launching very quick and often. As I said, I was with my sister (who is 13) and it was her first time at the park and Dragster was going to be her first ride, so we waited for the front and we got the black cherry train. Wow, what a rush, front seat is the way to go. After that we went and rode Wildcat, a ride that people look at and think nothing of it, but I love it. When we got off we headed to Iron Dragon, and then my mom and aunt called out to us from the Wildcat like (or lack there of) and we went on for another ride. When we got off we continued on our way to Iron Dragon, with my mom and aunt. I don’t mind Iron Dragon, it’s a pretty decent ride. After that we headed to the front of the park and got into line for Raptor and waited about 20 minutes and had a great ride. Next we headed to Blue Streak and waited about 10 minutes and had a pretty good ride. We headed across the park to Wicked Twister and walked on. No one else was up for maXair, so I gave it a try. The line was out of the queue but moved quick, after about 20 minutes I got on. It didn’t make me sick at all which thrilled me, and it was a really great ride, a nice addition to Cedar Point. After that we were all hungry so we grabbed some fries on the Main Midway and rested for a while. We finished eating and decided it was time to put our Ride and Slide passes to good use, but on the way to Soak City, we were distracted by Corkscrew, which we literally walked into the station and onto the train, Magnum which had about a 10 minute wait. Magnum was running pretty rough and my sister didn’t like it but I had a good time, and Power Tower, the red side . By this time it was about 3 and we were back at the cabin (# 99) and got changed for Soak City. It was my first time in Soak City and I really enjoyed it, we rode all of the tube slides but none of the non-tube ones. By 5:15 we were changed out of our swim suites and ready for more coasters so we (sister and me) headed to Millennium Force and rode the blue train. The wait said 1 hour but it was only about half an hour. She loved it. After that we headed down the Frontier Trail. We stopped by CCMR. A tame ride, but still decent, and for the record I didn’t see any construction markings. After that we stopped in the Town Hall Museum. A nice little place and I love the Blue Streak, White Water Landing, and Mean Streak models. Next on the list was Mean Streak and we walked onto the train. It was rough and bumpy, but I still love it, although my sister didn’t have many nice things to say about it. After that we headed to Gemini and only the red side was running. We walked right onto it and I have to say, it’s just not the same when it isn’t racing but we both enjoyed the ride. After that we went on Woodstock Express, just so I could say I have ridden all of the coasters. It isn’t that bad for a kids ride. We were going to buy the picture because it was so classic but the guy was changing the ink, and I don’t think he had ever done it before and it took so long so we left. By that time it was almost 8 so we ran to get on Mantis before the park closed, but we were about 5 seconds late. We headed back to the cabin to call it a night so we ordered some pizza and relaxed.

Day 2 began with a wake up call at 8am. I packed up my stuff and loaded it into the car since check out is at 11 and I knew I wouldn’t be there then. We got into the park right at 9 and headed straight for Dragster again. We got right up into the station and after a short and unexplained delay, we got onto the 11 train of the day after a half hour wait, once again on the black cherry train. It was 9:30 and we headed for Millennium. We waited for about 40 minutes and had an awesome ride on the yellow train. It was about 10:15 and we hopped right onto Mantis and after that we walked down the Frontier Trail. We hopped on the Antique Cars followed by Mean Streak, which was rough again but still fun. Next was Gemini and the blue side was running this time and we got right on. The blue side seemed funner than the red side. After that we went on Magnum and it wasn’t as rough. I had never been on Paddlewheel Excursions so we gave it a try and it was pretty fun. By this time it was almost 12, the time we picked to meet at the car. We all got to the car around 12:15 and we drove out of LHP and moved the car closer to the entrance. By this time it had started to rain. All four of us headed back into the park. We went to the front and rode Sky Ride to get there. We rode the Midway Carousel and then headed to Disaster Transport, which was a lot better than I remembered. We got off that and then onto Space Spiral for all of our first time. Such great views and I took a lot of pictures from up there. Next was Wicked Twister, walked on, and then Ocean Motion, and walked onto that too. After that we got on the train by Millennium Force and took the full ride. We noticed that Millennium had a short line so my sister and I got in line while my mom and aunt waited under the sheltered locker area, since it was raining. We waited about 20 minutes for the red train, completing a ride on each train. It was pouring when we left the station and had a painful but fun ride. That turned out to be the last ride of the day because it was really pouring at that point (no pun intended). My aunt is a master at skee ball so they played it on the Gemini Midway while I walked around and bought stuff. Around 4 we headed to Coasters for an early dinner. We sat in there for an hour hoping for the rain to hold up… but it didn’t. We asked at the counter for some garbage bags so we put them on and ran to the car and headed home.

Overall, it was an excellent trip. I rode a lot of rides that I hadn’t before and lines we short for everything. The only ride that I wanted to go on but didn't get a chance to was Demon Drop. I was surprised to see how many rides stayed open during the constant downpour. I learned that going to the park with family is fun, but not as fun as going with my friends. My next trip will be on a Saturday during Halloweekends and I can't wait!

This trip’s count:

Dragster: 2

Millennium: 2

Wicked Twister: 2

Magnum: 2

Raptor: 1

Mantis: 1

Mean Streak: 2

Gemini: 2

maXair: 1

Wildcat: 2

Iron Dragon: 1

Disaster Transport: 1

Side note: I took over 200 pictures, send me a private message or e-mail me if you want to see them. Also, my favourite 5 coasters list in my signature changed again, it seems to do that after every visit.
