This was my first trip to Cedar Point, and I was delighted. My family and I drove all the way from New Jersey, and we had a great time. The weather was good, and we were able to get on most of the coasters on the first day, except Gemini and Raptor (closed) and Wicked Twister (we didn't hit that part of the park). The second day, we finished the coasters, did the water/flat rides, and rode Windseeker, which was pretty cool.
Coaster-wise, I was impressed. This place beats Great Adventure by quite a bit. Maverick is my new favorite coaster of all time, and Dragster is a lot more fun than Kingda Ka. I only rode Magnum once and found it rather rough. I rode Millenium Force twice, and it was pretty fun, but not that extraordinary. I prefer a good B&M hyper like Apollo's Chariot over this ride.
Overall, this park was great. But the biggest disappointment was that I failed to find something simply amazing about Millenium Force. It is by no means the best coaster in the world. Maverick was way better. Does anyone agree?
The launches on both rides are different in a way no one really can tell either. They both time the force of the launches differently. Most of the force of TTD's launch is thrown in right at the start and this makes for a much more forceful feel to the launch. Kingda Ka however has different 'sections' of it's launch in that it adds power as it goes so you don't feel it as much.
That plus the fact that TTD only has lap bars and KK has OTSR is one of the main reasons why TTD is better in my opinion.
Imo, Millie is way better than maverick, jsut because its got much more height and speed! Maverick is great if you like twisting and inversions, you know, stuff like that. My fav ride out of the park is Raptor though, because its an invert and has a lot of inversions. But I prefer Millie for Speed and height, and just that its more thrilling than Maverick, especially since Millie has a lap bar, and maverick has the otsr's. This is strictly my opinion, not meant to contradict anyone! :) I am really glad you had fun to!
