Tuesday:
Left Rochester NY around 9 AM, had a decent drive and arrived at the Breakers a little after 2. Checked in and then went to the car to get the luggage and watched Dragster roll back. That was pretty cool. Got into the room and it was freezing which felt awesome as it was pretty hot outside. Just sat and chilled for a little bit and pondered where to have late lunch/dinner. My husband and I both hate making decisions so we knew it would take awhile to decide on something. In the meantime, I was antsy and wanted to do something/anything, so we went to the Breakers pool for a dip. Was really warm and didn’t cool off too much. While in the pool we decided on Famous Dave’s for dinner. So we came back to the room, changed, and drove over to the Marina. I was really impressed with FD’s, not just the food, which was awesome, but the atmosphere and the friendliness of everyone there also. We then went to Tops and grabbed some snacks and sandwich stuff so that we could avoid spending so much on food in the park. Got back to the peninsula and wanted to use our free mini golf passes, as I was still antsy, and my husband kicked my butt, which was quite humiliating since I was quite the trash talker! It was incredibly warm so we decided to take a dip in the other Breakers pool outside hoping it would be colder, but it was WARMER! By now we were pretty beat and figured we should get a decent night’s rest before our 2 days in the park.
Wednesday:
Woke up around 4 AM and could not sleep! My allergies always kill me at Cedar Point, and I think that was part of the problem. So I took a pill and tossed and turned until about 6. Woke up for good at 7:30 and got ready to head into the park. We initially went to the Magnum entrance thinking we would catch a ride on Dragster first and I could try the test seat again (I didn’t pull the slack in June when I went). The lineup was huge and we noticed that Dragster hadn’t even started testing yet. We thought it was probably too late to go to the Marina entrance, so we just headed to the Beach entrance and basically wasted our first ERT. Went to Maxair first, I believe there were only 6 people on the same ride as us. That ride really screwed me up, had seat 26, and I found it to be more nauseating than my seat 4 ride earlier in the season. We then headed over to Raptor and were one of the first in line for that, once they opened the gates at 9:30 there was a huge lineup behind us. Ended up being on the 3rd train of the day, awesome front seat ride. The op that opened the gate initially led us through every single que of Raptor, didn’t quite understand why they did that. We hit the Sky Ride, and the sun was already horribly hot. Walked the frontier trail back to Mean Streak and had a great 2nd row ride on that. Not as bumpy as I remembered and was just really fun! By now, the heat and sun were almost unbearable, so we headed toward the resorts gate and caught a ride on Mine Ride on the way. I know it’s not huge, but this ride is still lots of fun to me! Went to change into our suits and headed to Soak City. Took several laps in the calm lazy river which was pretty crowded. Then went to the Renegade River, which was only about ½ full of water. After stubbing our toes several times due to the 2 ft deep water, we left that after one lap. Played in the wave pool for just a few minutes. We headed back to the room and grabbed a sandwich and I wanted to go ride some more. So we took a ride on Magnum, a couple rides on Gemini, Iron Dragon and Space Shot PT. Also tried the test seat for Dragster again and again could not pull the slack GRRRR. More on that later. Hubby had been getting progressively sick throughout the day, so he wanted to go back in the lazy river. Which I didn’t really mind since it was unbelievably hot. One of the ride ops told us their weather radio said the heat index was 112, and the regular temp was 100. It really felt like it. So we floated in the lazy river for quite awhile, probably a good hour and a half. Part of me felt like I was wasting my park ticket, but the weather was just too miserable to be out on the midways. After we changed we decided to go off the peninsula for some dinner, so we went to Cracker Barrel. Got back to the point and hubby didn’t want to ride any more, and just wanted to go to bed. So I didn’t know whether to be a supportive wife and stay with him, or go back into the park and look like a loser walking around all by myself. I chose the latter (mostly because he told me to and felt like he was ruining my trip by being sick) By now it was dark so I caught quite a few rides on Gemini while they were still racing. This has become one of my favorite rides when they’re racing. Great airtime, and I think every drop gives my tummy butterflies. Also the last trim before the helix (?) was off so we really flew through it. Then rode Magnum a couple times, love that ride at night, it was really whipping through the course. After my second ride on that I felt a little guilty so went back to the room where hubby was sleeping, and since I was kinda tired myself, I laid down also.
Thursday:
Woke up and hubby was still not feeling great so I went to the gift shop in Breakers and bought him Pepto and Dramamine. He wanted to go on MF early as he felt bad I couldn’t ride and did not want to make me wait long. I knew I wouldn’t fit since I couldn’t pull the slack on Dragster. So we headed to the Marina gate and he was on the second train of the day on MF and miraculously felt a lot better after riding! We decided to stay in the park a little more today since the weather was a lot nicer, still warm but not as bad, and a nice breeze. Went over to Magnum and got to the gate to be first. Since Dragster was not running again this morning, we got quite a line of people behind us. Just before 10, one of the ops came down to let us know they were down mechanical, but didn’t think it would be too long before they were up and running again. So we decided to stay in line. Talked to a couple very friendly ride ops while we waited, Adam and Brad. After a few minutes they let us in and we took the very front seat, definitely the last time of that, the airtime is just too much. After our ride, the line wasn’t long at all so we jumped on again, this time opting for the back, which was much more pleasant. Basically for the rest of the day we just rode, rode, and rode, pretty much everything. Also spent a little time at Soak City, but not nearly as much as Wednesday. Had lunch at Fridays in Breakers, and was disappointed, though our server was really nice. Told us her first ride on Magnum was at the age of 4. That’s one brave kid, cause I was petrified when I went on it at 12!! Took a ride on Paddlewheel, last time I rode was in 03, and I was saddened when all the jokes were the exact same, new jokes every season, would that be so hard?!? Used up our other 2 mini golf tickets, where hubby beat me again, but only by 2 strokes. Overall a very enjoyable and productive day.
Friday:
Woke up around 8 and headed for home.
Some observations:
The auto-spiels were killing me, especially on Magnum. Part of what made Gemini so much fun was that there were no auto-spiels and the atmosphere of the station was so exciting. No, it does not change the ride, but it does change the overall experience.
Many ride ops were very friendly and courteous but there were some ops and lifeguards that seemed like they were in training for boot camp. Lighten up guys!! You can enforce the rules without being mean or rude!
Disaster Transport-Almost the entire ride was dark and that made it lots of fun. Rode it twice and had fun both times. A lot more fun than I remembered it.
The MF/Dragster seat belt issue- I’m chubby, I’ll admit it, but really not that big. I used to be able to fit, then lost about 20 pounds and can’t anymore. I realize why they changed it, but come on, if I could fit when I was fatter and can’t fit now, that’s screwed up. I am still losing though and will hopefully be able to fit next summer. It didn’t ruin my trip by any means, I had fun anyway, but I still felt like crap that I didn’t fit and also felt like I hindered my husband’s time since MF is his favorite ride.
Magnum station-ICK! Just a mess all around.
Sorry so long! Overall an awesome time. Can’t wait til next trip and bringing our daughter with us when she is old enough!

How was going in the park alone while your husband was resting Jillly? I'm going in 3 weeks with my mom, my sister, and my aunt and I'm not sure if they will be up for riding as much as I will be so I may be forced to go in the park alone sometimes. Just wondering how it was for you.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
It wasn't too bad. I wasn't in the park for too long alone, but for the time I was in I definitely had fun. If you're in the mood for riding and they're not, you have to make the most of your trip!!
