August 2-3

So Thursday night I realized I had no plans for the weekend, and I decided to make the long trip to CP on a whim (I live in Chicago suburbs, haha). So I packed and the next day after work I was on my way.

Saturday morning I was at the back entrance at 9:00 for early entry, and went to MF. Got in a ride on MF, and then went back to Maverick only to find that it wasn't running. So I walked on skyhawk, then went back to MF. After that ride, it was 10:00 on the button, so I got in line for Mantis because I knew that by the time I got anywhere else I'd be fighting a large crowd.

It was a pretty crowded day, but not as bad as I thought it would be. TTD and Maverick were running wonderfully throughout the day, but still had long lines. I waited about 1.5 hrs for each. Throughout the day I managed to get in a LOT of riding considering the long lines. Being a single rider certainly helped, though. One of the funny things I saw was that Maverick had a 2 hr line, and I walked around the corner to Mean Streak, and walked right into the station! Pretty sad how few people like to ride MS. I also got to try the ejector seat on Magnum... It certainly lived up to its name. I woke up today and my thighs were VERY sore haha. Nonetheless it was an amazing ride. I also went to Soak City for my first time ever! Renegade River is awesome! I laughed all the way around it because I've never seen a "lazy river" type water ride that crazy. I also loved Eerie Falls. All in all, despite the crowds, I got 4 more MF laps in too. Gotta love the night rides.

Sunday I again was at the gate at 9 am, and again got 2 MF laps in during the early entry time. The crowd was pretty big again today. I think I'm bad luck for chaos, because it went down for maintenance again while I was on it. That has happened to me on both trips already this year. Strange. Nonetheless it was a great trip.

We should car pool this Halloweekends on a Friday for a day trip one time....

Yeah nice trip report there, same thing happen to me during early ride time on Maverick, you get back there and it's not running. But that's still good you got all those rides in, on a busy day. :)

^^I go by myself because all my friends back out at the last minute every time haha. But it's kind of a good thing because I don't have anybody to hold me back. This way I don't need to take breaks and such from riding :)

Also, if you're interested in carpooling, I'd be in. I'm going 2 weekends from now (August 22-24). And maybe another trip after that.
