August 19th/20th - Great 2 day trip

Well, I got to the park around 4 P.M on the 19th. We were having trouble with our car (Tires basically), so we didn't get out of Michigan as soon as we wanted. We checked into hotel breakers. They had swithced our room around, so I was stuck on the snoopy floor (not cool). Anyway, we went into the park around 4:30.

First ride of the day was Gemini. For some reason, I always flock to this ride as my first for the day. The drop lifts my stomach more than any other coaster (Nothing higher than Gemini lifts my stomach...it's really odd), so I just love getting on the oldie. It was so good, we rode it again.

Now, this year, I've already been to CP twice, so seeing that Dragster was down really didn't matter to me, as I had no want to wait in a long line, and have already been on the ride. I had to wait 5.5 hours on opening day, but it was worth it. After this we headed over to Mine Ride for a nostalgic ride (my first coaster), so that was fun in it's own, special way. We then headed over to Wicked Twister. Wicked Twister is #3 on my list of coasters; to me, it's completely underrated. I love it! I had to sit in the middle (when are they going to let the guests flood the station? It was obviously built to allow such a thing to happen), but it was still a great ride.

We then headed over to do Wildcat and Iron Dragon. I'm still in love with Wildcat's paintjob, and it's still a great ride. We then headed over for my second ride on WT of the day. It can be concluded in one sentance.

I got the money seat! Yes, the money seat. 8-2. For those who don't know the numbering system, it's the second to last row, on the right. You get the most twistage in the back spike, and being in the front of the car, on the right, the car in front twists out of the way. You have a good 100 foot drop of twisting without anything inbetween you and the ground except for your restraint. And best of all, it was at night. I do wonder what it would be like in the day though. This is what makes WT on my list.

We wandered around the park some more, as it was the first time we had been at the park when it was pitch black. I went back for 2 more Gemini rides, and the second of the two rides caught me by suprise. Who knew that they did trimless rides on Gemini? Maybe it's common knowledge, but I didn't know. It was quite fun. But that's when it hit me that Magnum might be doing the same, and it was too late to get in line for it. The trimless Magnum Ride gets away from me once again:(.

So, the next day, we get into the park at abou 9:10. Something you must understand is that the one coaster I'd never done at CP is Mantis. At 15 (almost 16), my knees are horrible from Gymnastics, so I always stayed away. Well, the 2 coasters that were open for the resort guests were Millennium Force and...you guessed it, Mantis. So, I figured I might as well do it. People werelining up to get in line for TTD, and rushing to Millie, so we headed to Mantis. I am so glad we did. First ride was a walk on. Mantis takes my Number 4 spot. I LOVE it, and I think it shold be a Golden Ticket Winner. I absolutley love the beginning. The pre-drop is great, but the drop and loop really gets me going. The Diveloop is great too. The inclined loop really doesn't do much for me, but it's still fun. We wound up riding it 2 more times, each with about a 5 imnute station wait. At this time it was 9:40, so Joe cool ppl were in the park, and other rides were opening (which I didn't think would happen). We went over to Magnum and got 2 walkons. I still love this ride. The air hills just hit the "coaster spot" for me everytime.

After Magnum, we ran over to Wicked Twister. First ride was a walkon, but we decided to wait for the front, so we waited about 10 minutes. It was worth it though. Now I have 2 favorite seats on Wicked Twister. The frnt is just plain crazy. We liked it so much (sound familiar?) that we waited for the front again. so it's about 10:40 at this point, and we've ridden 7 times on 3 different coasters. Kinda intense for someone who never sees walkons. At this point I went around, taking pictures with the Digi, so a good hour I was roaming the park, taking pictures of everything. TTD was up, but I didn't feel like waiting. I've been on once, like i've said, so I'll wait. got some good pictures though.

We went on Blue Streak (the front is great for air and not as bumpy as in the back), and then went over to ride Raptor. I've never ridden Raptor in the front. I've never ridden an Inverted coaster in the front for that matter. So we went over and rode it in the front. Best ride on Raptor for me. It's just great! After that, I headed over for Wicked Twister again. Rode it one more time, and we deicded to go home, as I had school the next day. At this point my voice was shot from screaming so much.

5 Wicked Twister Rides, 4 Gemini Rides, 3 Mantis rides, 2 Magnum rides, and one each on Mine ride, Raptor, Blue Streak, Wildcat and Iron Dragon. It was a great trip.

OMG! The Space Spiral is leaning!!" Must be the weight of that new air conditioning system everyone keeps hypothesizing about...
