Aug 26. Finally a Great Day!

I say Finally a Great Day, for all of you who envy anyone who lives so close to Cedar Point, that they can go whenever they want.

3 weeks ago, pouring down rain, 2 weeks ago the family came to town so I could not go, great weather, 1 week ago flooding rains, yesterday Beautiful 77 degrees, breezy, Great Day!

Now for the report.

Joe Cool to get to Millenium Force, at the gate in 5-10 minutes, MF is closed due to mechanical reasons. What?!? Wait ten minutes they open, I get 1st car of the day, Cool. Run down the exit back in for round 2. Wait one train in for second ride.

Its 9:30 now so me and the son decide we want a chance to get a rollback on Top Thrill, we get in line about 9:38 only about 10 people in front of us. I see Mark from pointbuzz, we talk a while. 10:00am TTD is down for mechanical reasons, we wait, and wait, and wait... 11:15 they open the gates we head in, because I am so close to the front me and my son decide to get a front seat for the first time for us. We have to wait for 2 cars, but as soon as the 1st people load the trains, TTD is down for mechanical reasons, please step back and the guest in the trains please step behind the gates. 10 minutes later...

The best ride I have ever had on TTD, front seat, the power of the wind, WOW, wonderful ride in the front seat. (no rollback)

Hit many other rides, pretty quickly, Maverick early, Wicked Twister, Magnum, Skipped Meanstreak, Iron Dragon, Mine Ride.

Off to Raptor, "We are down for Mechanical reasons".. oh well off to Demon Drop. Walk on

We see Raptor running empty, head of there, they are just opening up after its downtime, 1 car wait, front seat.

Off to Power Tower Down to see dragster, lines are empty. Run over to TTD, we are down for mechanical reasons, and request you leave and try our other rides, because we expect a lengthy downtime. So... we waited, I was tired, me and my son layed in the shade for 1 hour, TTD still down, oh well..

Off to Gemini and Back to Maverick, about 6:15pm now..

2nd ride on maverick, took us til about 7:10, the park closes at 8, and we were going to finish our rides at the park with millenium force, but since our first two rides on maverick were so good, we finished our day on Maverick. Last ride of the day 8:15pm.

One fun note: My last trip report I mentioned a problem with Maverick's seat belt bolt. The the nut was on my chest side of the over the shoulder restraints. I doubt It was because of my report, I'm sure many other people may have mentioned the bolt problem. But they fixed the bolt, they turned the smooth side around to the body side of the harness, and I had no chest scratching issues all three rides.

Great TR. Nice seeing you guys again yesterday. The weather was beautiful, and it sounds like you managed to have a pretty good day.

Nice seeing you again Mark, and by the way, We figured out what that White Thing on the track was we were looking at.

It is the Hand Rail on the other side of the track, from the angle we were looking at it, we could only see a small portion of it, and it looked like a Seagal got ran over by a train.

It makes sense now, but it was funny trying to figure out why dragster was down for mechanical reasons. :)

We got in line for Dragster at around 7:30 when they started to test it again. After 5 minutes, it was down again. Then at about 9:30 it reopened and we got on in 5 minutes.

9:30?? The park closed at 8pm last night. Are you talking about Sunday night?

Yeah, the park closed at 8:00 but they didn't make us get out of line.
We were waiting until Dragster opened again.

Thanks. Glad to hear it was back up. Pretty incredible they allowed you to wait that long after the park had closed.
