Auditor - First Year

Hello. I have been hired on as an auditor for Food Services. This also will be my first year working at Cedar Point. I know a couple of people who have worked as auditors for CP and they say it's a blast. Hopefully, someone on here can further convince me.

I'm also concerned about a couple of things. First off, I am 29 years old, finished with college, and have my degrees. Am I too old for everyone? I can party like I'm 25 though. Secondly, I'm single so is there ample opportunity to meet women and not just teenagers? Any help on these issues would be appreciated.

I hope someone can also tell me what kind of shoes I'm supposed to have. I was told they are supposed to be brown or black and CP sells shoes for us to wear. I'm not down with wearing some B.S. Generics. So could someone maybe show me a picture or clue me in as to what type of shoe I can go buy before I get there? I've heard Sketcher type shoes is what they like, but I need to confirm this first before I go shopping.

Hit me up on MySpace if you will be working in my department (Auditor-201) this year. Go to www.myspace.com/gregfife. Thanks!

I like the quote, "I can party like I'm 25 though".

That's the best.

Good luck to you, I know I would feel a bit out of place if I had to work at CP so I hope you can meet up either with some very mature younger kids in college or possibly connect with some year around employees.

Ride on, MrScott!

This will be my third year as an auditor and i really enjoy it. i wouldn't worry about the age thing......it has no difference. there are plenty of different people there, so i'm sure your bound to meet someone. sketchers are a good model, just make sure they are comforable for when you walk around the park; i definetly do not suggest the shoes that the park sells. if you have any other questions feel free to ask............oh and feel free to hit me up on myspace www.msypace.com/dasiamom

Do they mind very moderate Nike Shox?

Shox don't work very well on greasy surface, much of which you will encounter in many of the units for food service. If you can find a nice pair of non-slip shoes that are comfortable you'll be good, or find a pair of really comfortable shoes and just learn how to "slide" around.

You'll be Ok. I worked there part time during my 1st year of law school. You're my age and there are a lot of employees significantly older. (If you don't believe me, check out the beach gate.)

Plus, if there's a younger co-worker you can't stand, go to Meijer, buy a 40 ounce of malt liquor and covertly stick it in his bag as he enters commons at night.

Age has it's advantages. Personally, though I party like I'm 17!

Because that is the mature thing to do.

I just posted in the other thread you started about the shoes. Shaniapatches is the Shannon I was referring to. Love ya Shannon!! Don't sweat the age thing. One of my great friends who worked with me in Area Supervision is married with 3 kids. I think you'll be safe. :) You won't necessarily spend tons of time in the locations, BUT you will be visiting all of them, so be prepared for anything. Besides, if they're doing their job, the floors will be clean. :-P
