Dragster did get hit in another spot (not just the tower) and it screwed up a lot of components. But the amazing maintenance team pulled though and got it (and Millennium) open before noon today.

I was watching Channel 13 in Toledo during that storm. They showed the lightning strike map and I noticed a large number of strikes right on/around the CP peninsula. They kept saying everyone in the CP area needed to take shelter. Things looked pretty intense on the webcams while I was watching. We only got a glancing blow in Perrysburg, just enough to mess up my outdoor plans for that evening.
Good to know it wasn't evacuated. Sorry that people's day got rained on though.
I got a text from a friend that said there was a mass exodus on the webcam. He said he saw everyone heading for the gates with the sun still shining. So I checked it out and sure enough there was what seemed to be everyone in the park heading in one direction. It looked like the park had just opened except in reverse.
Just gad everyone made it out safely. The last place I wanna be in a bad storm is on the point.
I was at the point last Wednesday, and when it began to storm we ran into the little store next to Dragster. Shortly after being there for a few minutes we were informed that the store has a problem with flooding. Surely enough when it began to downpour the water slowly flowed into the store. The employees had squeegees trying to stop it to the best of their ability. The problem is there is a storm drain before the store, however every time they get a decent amount of rain the drain overflows. It was eventful to say the least.

I feel bad for the sweeps and the ride hosts. I hope that they got to take cover.
