I'll take a wild, off the wall guess and say you'll probably get the same answers as the other girl that asked the same question in this thread.

It all depends on the housing you chose. most of Commons is nice. is Golds still around? I had a choir directer back in H.S. that said they were in bad shape. The guys housing on the causway paralell to wildcat is in disrepair. (Cracked walls, chipping paint looks like an abandoned building brought back to life type.) but I say go for commons.

I loved commons. it smelled musty when I processed in, but not for long once we filled it up with our stuff. It was a simple room with a window, 2 bunk beds, a dresser and lockers. One of the bunks has drawers built into the bottom of it. The room doors arent very sound proof but the walls are. I had a vending machines a couple rooms down from me. I had gotten addicted to sierra mist on a hot cp day. also in the commons area, they have a convenience store right there. I found it a great help when I didn't feel like driving to go get a dinner. The only thing that sucks is they dont have very many microwaves (maybe this has changed not sure) and they were used so much they really sucked at warming up food. (frozen mac and cheese in a micro: 3 mins. in a cp dorms micro: 9 mins). lol! The lockers come in handy if you have valuables u don't like to part with, as you know you cannot trust everyone you meet. Luckily I had great roomates, so it wasn't an issue.

hello people,
im gonna start work in late june.
feelin some nervous becouse im coming from Turkey.
and i got questions, i'll be pleased if anyone answer them.
am i gonna have a locker or something i can put my private stuffs? (im asking it because i read a lot of theft case)
and if i arrive c.p. after 6pm, can i stay there or should i go a hotel?
thanks(and sorry for my english:) )
You will have a locker. Bring a padlock. You can lock things up in your locker.
You can check into housing at anytime if you bring your contract, even if its after 6pm.
If I am processing in and working Admissions and Halloweekends, which dorm will I most likely be in? Just curious if I'll be assigned one or if I can request...I think I will request Commons if available since it has more amenities than the other units.
Cedars and Women's Dorms 1 and 2 (forget their name at the moment), will likely be closed by HalloWeekends, seeing as how they're not equipped with heat. Commons or Bayside will be your only options. You'll most likely find yourself in Commons.

I know I'm a little late in getting to this thread, but here is a picture of a room in the Commons 1500 building. They all look like this (although most are a little messier, but that depends on the occupants :))
