They do that every year to keep it in place during the off season. Also that is not really glass but a plastic. I assume (I don't know for sure) that they fill the holes with some type of epoxy when they need to seal it up. But I do know that they had the same type of supports during the 2006 off season and the glass was fine for the show that year.

Friends of mine who both used to work at Cedar Point, said the paneling that is there now is the same paneling they put up every off season.

For those of you who have actually gone to the park this year (unlike myself), is there any updates to this area?
Does it look like it may me its end soon? The offseason?
Promoter of fog.
Nothing new from what I looked at but one could hope that they tear down the stadium, DT and sell DD finally. Then we really could see something impressive.

Don't forget the giant launched coaster and the giant wheel and the flat rides as well. Tearing out all of those rides (DD, DT) doesn't have to mean something huge and impressive.
(For those still under the false hope that Cedar Point will build a 500 footer in the next five years.)

Let me clarify the meaning behind "Impressive"
1. Revamped front of park.
2. Revamped kiddy area.
3. A nice new woodie.

IF (and this is a big if) they plan to use this area for expansion in the next couple years, it is pretty much a 2 year project at minimum. Consider that they took out WWL laid footers for Maverick before the '06 season and for Dragster before the '02 season. Also note the enormous amount of concrete the stadium is made out of. It would be no easy task to just make that disappear. Plus, they would lose their only major outdoor seating venue.
I'm willing to believe they are shopping ideas for what to use it for before deciding to scrap the whole thing. There are other places things can be built.
Besides, I'm still under the impression that the kiddie areas and the waterpark will both get upgrades before coaster #18 arrives.

No.
They tore down the old Aquarium building. It had been a small arcade since the dolphins left. They were attached, or very near each other, but the stadium hasn't been modified (at least structurally).

I don't think they were attached. The Seaquarium was there before the stadium was built.

I couldn't remember if they were or not. If they weren't, they were close enough that it was an employees only area between the two.
In fact, here is a good photo of the aquarium going bye-bye.

You can see both buildings in this aerial.

I WANT MY DIVE SHOW BACK !
#1 fan<3
Who wants to see a high dive? I said, who wants to see a high dive?
I've heard rumors that Aquatic Stadium will be demolished after this season? Has anybody else heard these rumors as well?
Although there is no evidence to support a conclusion, it is likely we have seen the last show performed by either Human or ocean living mammal's in the Aquatic stadium.
I was just looking at the Aquatic Stadium photos and i was thinking if in the future they did get rid of the stadium a nice large version of a Mack Spinning Coaster like the one at Knotts would be nice in that spot. It would a nice view since it is right by the lake there and would complete the area a little more.
StealthPirate07, You probably haven't read Cedar Point's press release about Planet Snoopy. Cedar Point is for sure keeping the Aquatic Stadium (although I'm assuming that it's name will change). They will be somehow changing things inside and using it for a new Extreme Sports Show.
...and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, The Am-aaaa-zement park!
I know about the new show for the stadium this year. I didn't say when they get rid of it this year or anything. I said in the future, meaning anywhere from after this season to forever.
I was looking at the photos posted today and I was taken aback at how small and shallow that tank is. Is there another part of it I'm not seeing? I haven't been in that stadium since I was a little sausage (late 80's/early 90's) but based on how it looks in those photos I can't imagine a diver not smashing his head or a dolphin doing more then just floating.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
Its a little deeper than it looks in the pictures. I still think diving was a bit more of a risky thing to do, especially from the highest dive that they had, but the performers always pulled up at the right time. It can't be easy, though.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
