Apparel (Shoes, socks, belts)?

So i'm not quite sure about what the guidelines are in regards to shoes/socks/belts after completing the online training.

Shoes:
I know they said leather/simulated leather. Does that mean ONLY leather? what if they're partial leather/partial suede? Must they solid black/white, or can there be other colors on the shoes too? I'm in ride operations, so would it be feasible if i had blue/white/tan shoes, since we're already wearing blue shorts..

Socks:
Can we wear footies/no-shows? I'll be upset if we're required to wear socks that MUST be above the ankle cause that means i need to buy all new socks

Belts:
Can we wear black belts w/ blue shorts? what about blue belts w/ blue shorts?

I'm particularly interested in the shoes and socks..
Thanks

Shoes:

All white...only about 20% color allowed. I don't think it really matters what material they are, as long as they are not open toe or open heal.

Socks:

We need to see the sock.

Belts:

You can wear Black, Red, Blue, White, Brown...etc. Almost any color belt, as long as its sensible and not flashy with a huge buckle.

I saw alot of people wearing rainbow belts last year...they're allowing that now?

Most "dress code" rules are only enforced in extreme circumstances or if a complaint is received. I wore no-show socks all-year (well...minus October).

also, is cedar point really strict about the 'no-sagging' policy with shorts? or do they tend to be uptight about it constantly being on our 'natural waist'?

Ummm...yeah, I'm thinking they don't want your shorts hanging around your knees.

As a customer I would complain about an employee who wore their shorts like that. It's really not that cool "bust a sag" anyhow.

Ride on, MrScott!

when i mean sag, i don't mean my boxers showing cause my shorts are halfway down my ass.. i'm just saying, that i usually wear my shorts with the waist band hanging a little below my natural waist. they usually ride a bit above the hips.

and i do NOT support people who walk around with their shorts halfway down their ass

Are they anal about people being in "gender-specific" clothing? I'm a backstage tech anyway, so if they do give me women's pants and shirts, I'll just wear my own blacks. I also wear my pants at my hips, and not my natural waist. I'm not too worried about the sock issue. I only have no show socks, but I'll also be in black work boots and black pants, so I'm not worried.

You have to wear a belt and the stuff fits pretty well on your natural waist. They aren't going to be total Nazis about it. It just needs to look neat.

I talked to steve voorhees (ride operations manager) today, and he said that shoes are white w/ 10% color, footies/no-show socks are okay, and that blue/black/brown belts are required to be worn

Your uniform will be fitted at Wardrobe...so if you want a looser waist than they give you, say your a size larger and/or stick out your gut during the fitting. Then again, if your processing in with a large number of other people, they really are not going to be too picky about the fit or where your waistline is since they need to get you in and out, and on to the next person as quickly as possible.

A couple more apparel questions:

Can I wear a long sleeve shirt underneath my uniform?

Also, how long are the shorts (knee-length, almost to the knee, mid-thigh)?

i'm not sure about the length, since it's my first year this year.. but i seem to remember that they're almost to the knee..

If you're a girl, they're too long. If you're a guy, they're too short. Either way you get a nice awkward tan line ;)

I can't even get a hold of steve vorhees, and i've been his employee for three years!

To however this leather/simulated leather shoe thing started, i've never heard of that. Comfortable white shoes, thats all you need. Dont rely on wardobe's shoes.. they are not good. and for the techie, rock on however in ther real world, we're not called techies ;) and yes, you will have a "gender specific" uniform.

According to the employee handbook, it states that no clothing may show beyond the uniform. You can purchase jackets, rainsuits, etc from wardrobe to keep warm during cool, or wet weather.

looks like i'll be wearing my own black pants then as a backstage tech... ever tried wearing women's pants over boxers? it just doesn't work...

Jayme,

the show blacks arent bad. theyre just dress style pants and a long sleeve black shirt. atleast you arent in the ranger rice uniform that the light techs have.

i'm surprised they don't have the light techs in blacks as well...

yah...wish we were...but we help usher too in some venues..so we are in the same uniform as them
