I applied in late january and they called me about a week ago and she asked me if I knew what the housekeeping job was like. I said yes. An she said that she would like to schedule an interview march 5, in akron. She said someone would call me about the time. My question is will they really call me back? And on my application i forgot to put any vacation time on it, but later realized that I will need 2 weeks in July off for family vacation. Will they let me change that at my interview or is that too long of a vacation time? And how much can I expect to pay for food/week if I only get it from the employee cafeteria? I want to save up as much money as possible this summer, about how much can I expect to walk away with after working may to beginning of August? Sorry for all the questions this will be my first summer working at cp.
Goodluck on your interview,
Make sure you tell them up front that you would like the vacation. I think that will hinder you in getting the job however, as 2 weeks off during the busiest time of their season is not looked good upon especially because you are not able to work the whole season only a few months
May to the beginning of August with a two week vacation in July isn't really going to add up to a lot of money from your perspective or a lot of help from their perspective.
I'd never say never, but I'd plan to be a little more flexible or plan on working elsewhere. I worked seasonal jobs from high school through the end of college and ever once took a summer vacation. I needed the money.
