Anything new in Sandusky?

New restaurants, stores or any other businesses? I know K mart is gone as well as Food Town.
Anything new at the mall?
Yes actually, Ryans just went in on Route 250, excellent place if you like to eat buffet style. Good food, and a lot of variety.

They've finished the new, enormous Harley-Davidson dealership on Rt. 250. It looks pretty cool (and I'm not a huge bike fan).

Hometown Buffet went out, as well. They're supposed to be building a Home Depot down near Ryan's, but plans have went back and forth on it. Alot of businesses have been closing, and alot of businesses have TALKED about opening...but it seems to be mostly closing.

The mall hasn't changed much since the end of the season. We had a Teddy Wears open in there but it was gone a month later...lol

As long as Meijer and Steak N Shake stay and version of Dance Dance Revolution better than the one in Cedar Point (US 1st Mix! Eww!) somewhere in Sandusky, I'm happy. Wal-mart is cool too. Cheap oil changes for my car.

I'd like to see a Krispy Kremes put into Sandusky though. If they put one in the field next to the EVC lot across the street from the McDonalds and East of Chicago Pizza, they could get tons of business. I live in Portland, Oregon. Nearest Krispy Kremes is about 3-4 hours away, and believe it or not, some people actually go that distance just for those donuts.

The KKs sold in commons are only OK. You haven't had a KK until you've had one straight off of the assembly line.

When they opened the first Krispy Kreme in the Buffalo area...they had to set up queue's in the parking lot. One morning, me and my buddy waited almost 2 hours for em! Well worth the weight...err, wait.

Or there are some of us that sit in the parking lot of the one on Walden and wait for the free doughnut light to come on! LOL.... but that shouldn't surprise my crew from last year since i was the Magnum doughnut king!

I agree. A Krispy Kreme store just opened up here in Grand Rapids, and they were giving away fresh, hot glazed doughnuts for free... even tastier warm than my usual fudge-iced custard-filled from the Caf. *drool*

Tilt, our arcade, is pretty sad. If I'm not mistaken, Dance Dance Revolution is the game where you step on the 9 squares to the beat of the music, and they dont' have this game. They do, however, have a knockoff of it.

I'm not sure what the name is, but I've seen people playing it and tried it myself...I just didn't see what was so entertaining about it.

Don't know of any other local arcades, unless like Goofy Golf or someone has it.

Why do Home Town Buffet close? That place what great. Back in the mid nighties when I didn't have a car at the point I would take the bus to the mall and chow down. Last year I had a car and virtually ignored the mall.
isn't Home Depot supposed to take place of Sports City?
If you like buffets the KFC across from the mall has a buffet.
We have a HomeTown Buffet in Mansfield about 15 minutes away from me. It is about the busiest place in a decaying shopping center.
I think Elyria has one in the Midway Mall.
Hometown closed because Ryan's opened and Hometown was getting no business even leading up to the opening of Ryan's, so it would've only gotten worse with Ryan's. The employees didnt' even know it was going to happen.

Acctually, I read that all Home Town Buffets are going out of business and closing down.

Ryans is good and the Super Wal-Mart is gonna be cool (beats Meijers). But it is a bummer that Hometown went down oh well we still have China King. But how can you diss Diana's? that place rocks.
