Cargo shorts with zipper pockets are the way to go to hold your phone in. Here is an idea for what I do, only bring your car key to the park in a zippered pocket. No reason to lug a ball of keys around. I like the idea of a mountain climbers hook that someone mentioned earlier, GREAT idea! I actually bring a few ziploc bags in my pocket to put my wallet and key and remote in if I decide to ride a water ride. I absolutley cannot get the image of a grown man in mom jeans with a fannypack I saw on my last visit. To each his own and I will get slammed from saying that but MAN!
^ Same here, but I do try to keep it at a bare minimum. It really comes down to trying to decide between a fanny pack and cargo shorts. But it has come in handy for extras (impulse buy of Jelly Bellies).
I might start shopping for a convertible fanny pack, if it exists. One that I can wear as a crossover, long (but thinner!) strap that can easily shorten and go around the waist before boarding a ride. My current pack's strap isn't long enough. Although most of my gripe is having to move the fanny pack around in order to fasten the restraints.

I wear a fanny pack because it does what it's intended to do. And I don't care what other people think. I am not into the whole style thing. I cold never wear cargo shorts, as I hate the feeling of being weighted down with crap in pockets. Plus chance of something getting broke between leg and bars. Wish people would get over their insecurities and wear whats best for them! I laugh when people lose stuff because they are afraid of what they look like with a fanny pack. You are in an amusement park, going on rides where it is easy to lose things. You are not being judged on wearing something that protects your valuables.

No, it's not even that, I couldn't care less at my age and married with kids. My fanny pack has a wide belt and too much purse against me and although it's an awesome well made pack, after a while it feels just short of carrying a back pack. I need freedom.
But I did make my mini purse work today per Paisley's info. Tied the knot so it was a much a lighter duty fanny pack and happier with the thin strap. I might still shop around, I think they make mini cross-body purses with clips I might play around with, there's always something better out there. Or maybe a smaller fanny pack with thin straps.
I have to agree with weighted down cargo pants, I don't see myself really going for that either.
