Anything besides a fannypack!

So I REFUSE to spend the fortune on lockers this year. I am fair skinned so I would like to carry around sunscreen and being a girl I have rather small pockets. I would also like to carry my phone, money, and keys. Are those cross-body bags allowed on the rides? I have a small one that is roughly the same size as a fannypack, but a little more...stylish. Not that I really care about what I look like being around complete strangers but there's no way I can wear a fanny pack!

Don't hate the fannypack.

I wear them, but not at CP. Seems like they would be in the wrong spot for seatbelts and lapbars.

Don't give up on the fanny pack. It will be in style at some point. Heck, a few years ago people would have made fun of you for wearing neon or flourescent shoes, but now that's just about all you can find.

Get a big pair of cargo shorts. It's amazing how much stuff I fit in the pockets.

Put the sunscreen in a plastic bag in case it leaks, or better yet...apply it and leave it in the car.

Unfortunately, without a functioning DeLorean, 1989 isn't coming around again any time soon.

As long as your purse is roughly the size of a piece of paper and can go across your shoulders, you should be fine wearing it on all of the rides.

Who cares whether or not it's in style? Get over your insecurity and wear a damn fanny pack if that's what makes the most sense.

Relax bro, the problem I have with it is beyond style and the fact that there are a bit uncomfortable. Cross body purses are much more comfortable to walk around with all day so I thought I'd ask.

You can loosen a fanny pack to the point where it will function as a cross body purse, and tighten it when going on rides so you don't need a locker.

I have worn a cross body purse that was pretty small the last two times I was at CP and no one ever said anything about it. If it's cold and I am wearing a coat, I put it on under the coat so it's more secure. And don't worry, I completely feel you on not wearing a fanny pack! Not only are they uncomfortable and in a terrible place for riding, I can't help but be reminded of my grandma when I see one!

Ride on!

Last time we went it was a little bit cooler, so I brought a jacket with zip up pockets. Through out the day it got warm, so I just carried the jacket and wore it on the rides. If it was too warm to wear it on the rides, I'd tie it around my waste on the rides. It worked out perfectly. Especially when it got really cold in the evening.

Ruffrider and JeszB, these are all great tips, thanks! When was it that you were there?

I use a rock climbing hook for my keys... They are like $1 at walmart and clip onto your belt loop. I'm a guy, so I just stick the rest of my stuff in my cargo pockets.

Buy yourself some cargo shorts from the men's department. The pockets on women's cargo shorts are decorative and don't hold anything.

I was there July 25th of this year I believe. It was when Michigan/Ohio was going through that cold streak. It was really cool in the morning/evening, and not too hot during the day. So it was perfect.

I used to use a mini cross-over purse for many years before kids but when I had to take it off for a coaster some years back and put it in the bin, plus reading here that the fanny pack is the only thing allowed to wear on many rides now, I wear one to CP now and I don't care what people think. While I don't like it better than my mini cross-over, I like it better than the backpacks I see people carrying around. I can't imagine on a hot day wearing a backpack, even those drawstring ones. I'm not weighing down my legs with humongous filled up cargo shorts either. The fanny pack is working out all right, I wear it lower and on my hip anyway, it feels more comfortable there and not hot for me. I would not enjoy walking over to the bins every ride, I won't even carry a cup around either, plus I think it holds up the line. Try to get travel size sunblock or put it in a smaller container for whatever you're carrying.

"Cargo Shorts" would be the better or the best option :)
those large pockets and that to 6-8 pockets lots of stuff can be carried isn't?? :) :)

That's gross. I hope you at least washed it when you got home.

I must confess, I'm getting sick of the fanny pack, it's like an appendage I have to move when strapping in. Wish I could go back to my mini cross-body but then I'd have to deal with bins and lockers.

You could do one of the things my girlfriend did:

A) Get a friend (or boyfriend in her case) to carry everything in their cargo shorts.
B) Give up and buy a comfortable pair of boy's cargo shorts.

I don't care much for the look, but I don't have to worry about my phablet flying out and killing a small group of children.

You can get capri-length women's cargo pants at JCPenny, and they even come in plus sizes. Most of the pockets have buttons as well: but resew them because I've had a couple come off.
