Let's Get Weird.

Myfiancee just named her new ferret "millie" and is still waitning to possibly pick up a male to name it "maverick". We also dubbed her parents' cat "SheiKra" about a year ago when they got her. Although my next pet (an american alligator in the 3-4 ft. range) will be ironically known as "tinkerbell" or "fluffy" just out of shear irony.

We can't keep her because we already have 2 dogs that are a handful.

2 dogs? HA try 8 dogs!! Now thats a handful! That is what happens when you're a volunteer at your local shelter. You go to walk the dogs and help them with the adoptions and before you know it, you end up bringing some of them home! Technically only 7 of our 8 are ours, one is a foster for the shelter but he is such a case he will end up being our forever foster anyway. I did buy 2 of of our designer dogs from private breeders, NOT a petstore - do not EVER buy a dog from a petstore PLEASE! :(

Thank you for saving the dog you found, if you can't find a home for her there are many rescue organizations who will find a home for her! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I have rescued all my dogs, 3 from the Humane Society and the rest from homes who didn't want them anymore. Our latest is just the most awesome good dog that we got from another owner. I am just grateful I was able to take her and that the previous owners didn't beat them or just let them loose around town. Those pet stores are mean to the dogs and charge outrageous prices.

I did name my Jack Russell "Mindy" (her previous name was "Sissy") after a mug I saw in Snoopy Boutique. Does that count?? ;)

^^ Oh my goodness! Just having 2 in our small abode is enough to drive us nuts sometimes. We are looking to move mostly because of the dogs, to get more room for us all & a fenced in yard! But I'm like you & love dogs & will always have at least 1. We have an AKC collie & the Britney/Beagle mix in the pic. I am not going to buy anymore full breeds though; there are just too many that need adopted. I used to volunteer out at a shelter when I lived in L.A. Very sad. I will check out rescue groups in the area if I can't find a loving home for her myself, thanks Jo!

^ Sure... it's "something" at CP :)

2 of my pomeranians came from CAHS (Capital Area Humane Society)

Jack Russell, Sheltie Mix, Shar Pei mix and my oldest Pomeranian came from other owners.

I still have one pomeranian, the jack russell and my shar pei. Plus a cat (from a previous owner). Thank goodness for neighbors so I can visit CP for a weekend and not worry about my babies! ;)

Although, all of my animals are spayed. That is the first thing I make sure of when I get my dogs.

Gemini is a good name too.
