Anyone name a pet after something at CP?

I just got a little puppy and I wanted to name him Maverick by my girlfriend isn't as much of an enthusiast as I am.

I just spent an hour last night chasing down a sweet stray so she wouldn't get hit & nicknamed her Maggie. At least until I find her owner. :)

I think Maverick would be very cute for a boy dog. And I know how you feel; I'm the coaster/CP nut...er I mean enthusiast in house.

Maverick would have been the best name for my dog, but not because of the ride at CP. In fact, we decided against it for the mere reason of being too over the top with it, even though he would be more named for Maverick from Top Gun.

So, his name is Baxter, because I was watching Anchorman when I named him. :)

Named our chahuahua Sandusky.

Baxter, poor dog. Got kicked off a bridge! (Anchorman) Haha.

Maverick is the only name that could go really be used. I mean you can't call your pet Millennium Force or Power Tower. It doesn't make sense.

Maverick is just a cool name to begin with.

^Perhaps it's the only official name you could use, but le'ts not forget little nicknames like Millie. That could work. Here goes another one of those thread that we ask ourselves, why are we discussing this, and then we do it anway.

I forgot about my girlfriends' fish named Cedar.

Named my hamster "Sarah" after a girl I started dating when I worked there. Our relationship didn't last long, but everytime I see my "FAT" hamster, it reminds me of her.

NOTE: One thing I notice about these pointless threads, are very few of the "pointbuzz" lifers ( 1000 posts or more) ever comment on them.

I'm too sexy for my harness!

In due respect campfreak06, I don't think that you have to have 1000 or more posts to be known as a "Pointbuzz" lifer. Many on here have been on for years but only have few posts because they enjoy reading them and don't care about trying to build up post #'s. They only post on something that they really think will contribute no matter what the topic is and how dumb someone might think it is. Sure, there are alot on here that have hundreds of posts or a thousand plus in a short time but most of them post good points and know what they are talking about. A pointless thread to you might not be to someone else. ( like me on this one ). This is a fun little thread that I posted on and for my first post in a long time.

I don't post on threads like this because I typically have nothing relevent to add to them. I don't have pets, and haven't named any of them after Cedar Point rides/attractions/etc.

Walt will probably comment on this thread, because as he suggested a few weeks ago, he's named his cats (I think it was cats?) after the dolphins from the dolphin show.

Thus, the "Maggie" nickname. :)

What about random things you hear around the park...

I mean think about...

"Come here Hands Down! Come to Daddy!"
"NO! BAD KICK THE SKY! WE DO THAT OUTSIDE!"

Just a thought ;)

"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"

My friend and coworker is a CP enthusiast.

She recently adopted a three-legged cat. At my wife's suggestion, she named it "Troika Troika Troika." (I kid you not!)

Of course, it answers to just "Troika."

I have a pound dog we named Maggie. Years ago I had 3 ferrets named "CP" "Raptor" and "Banshee."

My barrel racing/jumper's show name is "Get to the Point" :)
Sounds so cool when they announce it over the PA before our ride (or better yet, when we win the class! :))
Training a colt now and his show name will be "Secure all loose articles" :)
My show # is always 137.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

my dogs name is Max (MaXair) but we didnt name him after the ride though. As a matter of fact we didn't name him at all. We adopted him.

Would you like another one? Looks like my stray was a throw away. Makes me sick how people treat animals. She sits, lies down, shakes hands (paws :)), and hasn't barked once yet. Very loving & playful, around 10 months to a year, I think. How about you Mark since your here in town. Looking for a nice companion gal?

We can't keep her because we already have 2 dogs that are a handful.

Well, if you don't want her to get hit, you'll probably want to keep her out of the rain. ;)

Goodbye MrScott

Another cool name would be Gemini. So the only names that would actually work would be Maverick, Magnum, and Gemini.
