^Kenton's Keelboat Canal*** was the name, but yes I remember that ride too. And I also remember the old smaller log flume before they remade it into the Wild Thornberry's Adventure. Both of those log rides were fantastic, and there was NEVER a wait for KKC. I'm really glad KI invested in such a great ride like Tomb Raider: The Ride!!!! (note sarcasm)

When I went to cp pre-Maverick years, I didn't really ride WWL that much. ppl tell me that little kids always lean over and dip their arms in the trough as the boats go by and they get hurt!! anyways, it was nice to have a ride where you didn't get drenched, but nothing will ever take the place of my Maverick!!
It was a good family ride and yes, I do agree that they should build some kind of ride over in the twister midway. if the stadium is closed and not going to be used soon, then why do they waste time and space having it just sit there doing nothing??
They are doing neither. Since they're not ready to put something else in there, there's no rush. And it's more economical to wait to tear down the stadium until they're ready to use the space.

I'd have to agree that a new log ride just wouldn't be the same without all of the trees. The only way it would work is if they really HEAVILY themed it, and although CP does seem to be doing a bit more themeing now, I just don't think they could pull it off.
I'd actually like to see one of these in the Aquatic Stadium's space.

They sound fun, and don't get you very wet although families enjoy riding it. Also the bright colors would make it look "snazzy" without having a ton of trees or themeing. *** Edited 6/29/2007 4:00:20 AM UTC by Top Thrill 182***
Thrills Around the Corner!
what is funny is you guys talk about it not being a family ride but that is all i heard today in the park was people going to ride it.. Saw a grandma and grampa riding it to.. while it is not a kiddie coaster it is no milli or dragster either...
Ensign Smith, I thought the same thing until going to some different parks this season. Having a little one really changes the way you enjoy a park and it makes it even more important to me that I could ride something without leaving anyone in the family behind.
I have a son who is 16 months old and is only 34 inches. He was able to ride Logger's Run at Michigan's Adventure. Sure it's not a super thrilling log flume, but with a 40 foot drop at the end it's still a great ride to get a little wet on and the entire family can ride together.
Earlier this season we visited Carowinds and my son could ride Scooby Doo and the Haunted Mansion with us. Once again, it's another ride that the entire family can enjoy. Even though he wasn't able to hold up a gun, he still liked going through all the different rooms and seeing things.
Also at Carowinds my son was able to ride Danny Phantom's Flyers. While I'm sure a low capacity ride like that wouldn't fly at CP it would be nice to see the park add something that the whole family can do together. I think the last thing they added that the whole family could do was in 2002 and that was the Ice Skating show in the old CP Cinema. However, the park still hasn't replaced some of the other family rides they once had.
While there are several rides that we can ride together it would be nice to see the park add something more family friendly in the future.

^^ That's really great your son was able to ride a ride like that at such a young age. I've never been to MiA, but I have been to quite a few other parks, and most of the time height restrictions for flume rides seem to hover around 36 inches. That doesn't include dark boat rides like Scooby Doo or It's a Small World, which tend to be much more inclusive.
Here's an interesting idea for a water ride. How about a launched flume ride? Like the Atlantis rides at Sea World, it would be a hybrid coaster/flume ride, only with the added novelty of one or more LSM launches. Obviously these launches would have to be located on dry or 'land' portions of the ride, but they could be used to generate speed or, like Maverick, to get the log up a lift quickly. And also obviously the 'logs' would have to be modified from their basic configurations to work with an LSM.

What about a flume ride, but with major water jets along the lines of the master blaster water slides that blast innertubes UP hills?! Now that would be intense. Still, no flume compares to splash mountain.

i miss it a lot. It brings back memories of when my family was actually a family and their were no worries back then. That was one ride that we all enjoyed together and i'll never forget it.
"Mean Streak crew 2004"
YES YES YES I MISS WWL TO .IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST LOG FLUME RIDES IN THE COUNTRY I REALLY WITH THEY THEY WOULD BUILD A NEW ONE SOME WHERE ELSE IN THE PARK.
^wow. I think it's time you put down the caffeine for a while. And I like the lisp too ;)

When they removed wwl, it left a BIG void in the park.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
You guys are hitting my only Kings Island soft spots. Stopit!
I mean, the old Flying Eagles, Kenton's Keelboat Canal, and then you talk about Enchanted Voyage, which I want to be able to ride so badly. :(
All you have left to do is say Cedar Point needs something like Phantom Theater. Then you'll make me cry. :P
Eh. I don't really miss White Water Landing. I still a kind of ride that every park should have, because I know a lot of people enjoy it.
Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~
Water Water Landings was okay, but it took me on a lackadaisical adventure. I would of honestly been satisfied if they would of just took me up and dropped me like Snake River Falls. True, you didn't have to get completely wet.
But that area was dead, you couldn't get me to walk down there until they added Skyhawk and Maverick. Its not important to me that Frontier Town keeps wood, I'm not there for themes. Howling metal is what makes me excited.
Maverick looks intimidating, but I consider it a thrilling Family Ride.
Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!
Wouldn't it be cool if they rebuilt WWL and put it in place of the stadium? *** Edited 7/30/2007 1:27:08 AM UTC by rFo628***
