Anyone Know About Ride Maintenance?

Hi everyone, I just was wondering if anyone on here worked in maintenance at CP or could tell me anything about it. I currently go to Michigan Tech for Mechanical Engineering. I would like to work at Cedar Point this summer now that I am old enough, and thought that getting hands on experience in how the rides are built and operate would be a plus when applying to work for a coaster design company (hopefully Intamin). Anyhow, any information would be greatly appreciated. It is nice to have a place to go where everyone is as enthusiastic about Cedar Point as me, my friends and family think I am weird because I can tell them all the "useless" information about the rides and the park. Christian, glad to see you go to MT... that's where I went.

Did you e-mail Cedar Point about it already? If not, it would be a good first step to answering your question.

I worked in Landscaping for 6 years, so I could answer general department questions. But for ride maintenance specifics, Draegs is your best bet.

Hey christian,

Wierd, I have the exact same problem. I called and talked to the head of ride maintenence(cant remember his name for the life of me right now) he is a real nice guy he told me to send in a app directly to him. I am pretty much in the same position you are in (except that I go to northern Illinois University) just want to let you know though that getting a job at intamin is gonna be difficult they only employ about 10 people they are a really small company. I have been trying to get an internship at premier rides and that isnt working too well which is why I want to get some hands on experiance at cp. I have plenty of cadd experiance but nothing hands on but call cp and ask for the head of ride maintenence. please let me know his name I forgot and have to call him back lol. later

Charlie Elswick runs ride maintence but there is another person above him not sure if this will help or not
Jack Fletcher is the head of Ride Maintenance and Monty Jasper is the VP of the Maintenance Department.

Without Environmental Services Cedar Point would be a dirty park!

How did you get a hold of the head ride mechanic? Did you call the main office or employment services or what? BTW, did he know anything about having to join the union? Thanks, Christian
Yes you call cedar points number located on the bottom of the webpage and that connects you to an operator then tell them to connect you to the maintenence dept. yea that's the guy I talked to jack fletcher. and yea you do have to join a union I didnt get the details of that yet I figured I would wait to get the job first.
