I lived in commons dorms last summer and they are way too small for four people. The air conditioning is great , but it's like living in a cell, you can't do anything other than sleep there and there is no kitchen. The CP Apartments have a kitchen but are jammed full of people and have no AC. I'd really like a kitchen and AC. Anyone have any luck finding a decent apartment on their own?
Most apartments in Sandusy are a year long lease. I find Bayside the best over all of CP housing. There are no A/C's but some people do put one in. There's less roomates and a better kitchen. And a bathtub if you like those better than just showers.

I lived in CP housing for 4 days last year, just enough time for me to find an apartment. First, check the Sandusky Register, lots of apartments are available there. Avoid going down by 250, stay in 'downtown' sandusky. Youll be surprised what you'll find. I lived on Adams St. right near the library. A lot of the older buildings have been turned into apartments. You might have good luck just driving around town!
I think it would be extremely neat if someone were to build a housing complex for CP employees, that wasn't owned or operated by CP. That way you wouldn't have the ridiculous ritual of having to show ID just to get into your home, you could bring as much alcohol as you want into your place (without having to go through the trouble of sneaking it) you could have friends and visitors over whenever you like, you could have under-18 employees over, there wouldn't be as many people crammed into rooms...it would be just like CP housing but without all the bad stuff. It could have it's own shuttle and everything. I just always thought it would be a neat alternative...sorry to be OT.
About that alcohol thingy... do they really check everything that you try bring into your appartment!? :S
Oh no, they don't check everything. With all the people constantly going in and out of housing, there simply wouldn't be time! It can be pretty random, or if you look particularly suspicious. No one ever asked to check any of my bags. But there is always the threat of being searched. I had a friend (and underage at that) who was busted trying to bring beer into Bayside. It's really not all that hard to sneak things in, but it's the principle of the thing - being an adult and unable to bring alcohol into your place.
when i was there.... they checked bags at night.... and if you had a case of beer...you were only allowed... 6? i believe so if you bought say a 24 pack you'd need 3 people of age walking in..but then it also depends on who know...
