I've grayed out on MF's first hill and at the bottom of the first overbanked turn, Mantis in numerous places throughout the ride esp. the bottom of the first hill, and Raptor on the loop before, but this year the only one that did it was Mantis. I didn't have any problems with Maverick at all.
It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.

I actually saw stars in the back of the train on Maverick right after the drop.
That would be okay if you hit your head.
If not, it's probably nothing, but it could be something serious. Keep an eye on it.
Jess saw 'em too, maybe we have stars syndrome and it's contagious.

Ride on, MrScott!
I pinked out on MF's first overbank, and that's all that's happened to me. I'm going on Wednesday so if it happens again, you'll know.
It's caused by a rush of blood to the head, duh. Like, if you cough real hard and you see stars or sneeze really hard. We were in the back of the train so we got tossed over the first drop and blood rushes to your head, if you really think it's a big deal and you have any type of medical training you might want to ask for your money back, I'm just saying.

I have never seen stars from a blood rush to my head, not even under sustained -2 g's. That is talking beet red skin color. I've also not heard of anyone having those such circumstances until now. In fact, every time I've ever heard of this happening, was during eye or brain trouble.
Given what I've seen, it sounded like a potential warning sign of trouble. Most potential warning signs are false, notably that I didn't put much weight on it. It only takes ignoring one of a serious problem for just long enough to be fatal. Face it, people die every day for things that could have been prevented.
I don't come close to blacking out on Maverick, but on MF's second hill it is hard for me to remain conscious, and I don't recover until the first tunnel.
A lot depends on what you have eaten and drank before hand. I most generally don't have any problems.
I had tunnel vision on Goliath as well in the helix. I have blacked out on MF at the first overbank and came to as we entered the tunnel. But that was due to me being at the park in early morning for a film shoot, and riding all day without eating much.
Was coming close on Maverick. But it was after about 15+ rides in morning for Media. :) *** Edited 6/10/2007 5:00:19 PM UTC by Magnum "Candy" Man***
I'd have to agree with you. It may not be the ride so much as what you've had to eat or drink, and how much riding you've actually done. However, seeing stars on something as mild as Jr. Gemini, that might be an issue, or it could just be certain people on this board. ;)

Magnum Candy Man has it right, its all about how hydrated you are. In my earlier years there would be times (especially on hot days) where I would grey/brown out on coasters, since then though I have been much more concious of staying hydrated at parks and it hasnt happend to me since. Just remember more water=more blood=higher blood pressure (in a good way)=more blood to brain.
i didn't black out on Maverick but i did on Mantis. Going down the first hill my vision went out then right back to normal. It was pretty weird. and my legs kill on that ride. as soon as we go down the first hill my legs are already asleep.
I've never blacked out on anything before, but I definitely saw stars on the first drop and persisting through about the first 1/3 of the ride. Was a little weirded out. Odd, too, because I'm usually LESS hydrated, fed, etc than I was -- since I was with my young cousins, I was making sure to keep everybody taking care of themselves. (When I'm buy myself, I HATE to spend park prices on anything... I spent $25 on pretzels and pop on Saturday and could've about died. Ugh.)
I won't ride Mantis, it makes my legs hurt so bad.
