Raptor's Helix at least feels much more intense than MF's drop to me as far as sustained G's go... but I've never blacked out on it.
Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004
I've "oranged" out on the Millennium overbank, Raptor's first loop and helix, and SFGA's Batman in the first loop. Maverick doesn't have the sustained intense forces that those rides have. It has alot more quick negative and lateral g's.
Oops forgot the helix on Goliath at SFMM. *** Edited 6/6/2007 9:21:09 PM UTC by mulfinator***
Every time i have ridden MF no matter where i sit i grey out in the same spot. At the top of the first overbank after the drop I grey out. But, i always am fine again as soon as it exits the tunnel. Kinda weird at first, but normal now.

My son saw sparkles, kinda like when you bend over and get up too fast. This happened in the 1st turn after the 1st drop. MF gets all of us ranging from tunnel vision to just sparkles and stars like described above. If I stay hydrated and ride on cool days, no problem. But if it is hot and I don't drink enough fluids, then I get some mild visual disturbances caused by lack of blood to the brain. I suppose this has something to do with blood pressure drop when lacking fluids. I read about this on a web sight for stunt pilot training and dealing with g-forces. So drink plenty of fluids, but not so much that you have to pee while riding, that hurts.
When I go down the first hill on Gemini Jr. I see shamrocks and clovers.

I have experienced spots/stars in my vision during the helix on Goliath at SFMM. The helix on raptor and parts of Mantis are also pretty intense as far as g-forces go, but I haven't had a problem with them. I also rode MF 3 times on Memorial Day and I didn't get any spots/tunnel vision/blackouts. I wouldn't worry about Maverick. It doesn't have the height (and therefore the speed) to generate enough g-forces to cause spots/tunnel vision/greyouts/blackouts (at least not for most people).

Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless
I sometimes black out a little on the bottom of the hill on Mantis, most likely because it's a standing coaster, and once on MF at the bottom of the hill.
Maverick whips you around a lot, but there are no positive vertical g's sustained long enough to cause a blackout, that I have experienced.
^^ - g forces are a measure of acceleration, or more accurately a change in velocity over a measure of time. Since velocity is both speed and direction, you don't have to be going very fast to cause high g-forces. You just have to change the direction enough over a short enough period of time to exert high g-forces onto a person.

yeahhh i black out on MF's over bank turn..all the way throught the first tunnel. it's kinda freaky cuz you can't see anything for about 5-6 seconds=D i can't imagine that's any good for you're brain...
No, its not. Since a blackout is caused by a lack of blood flowing to the brain, I would say that its a very BAD thing for it to be happening.

Yeah, Maverick does pull some fairly high g's in the turns, but because of the tightness of the turns and speed of the ride the forces are only sustained for a short amount of time in comparison to MF, where they're sustained clear through the bottom of the first drop and around the first turn.

I've been on Millennium Force only twice, and I've never grayed out or anything like it at all.
I DID, however, gray out on the Lazer at Dorney Park. And this was a year after I first rode MF. I think it was just because the loops are so round that the forces we too great for me to handle. I saw like the sparkle/star things, and then everything went gray. It was quite an odd thing to have happen.

I had a blackout and had a vision at the same time. I foresaw a new roller coaster debuting in 2008 with a heartline roll at a Six Flags park.
Ensign Smith, comment of the day goes to you, my friend.
I miss the old Guide To The Po!nt post of the day or whatever the feature was called. Wonder if we'll see that again...

I actually saw stars in the back of the train on Maverick right after the drop.

Ride on, MrScott!
^^Eh, I sort of thought it was a dud. But thanks. ;)
The only CP coaster I ever gray out on is Raptor, bottoming into the loop.
