Anybody here work at the Breakers? - Parking Question.

The Pun's avatar

I am coming up there opening weekend with my business partner (we are both huge coaster nerds) and staying at The Breakers. We are driving up an Audi R8 and looking for preferred parking or a garage that is available. Does this exist or can anybody point me in the right direction?

We just want to keep the car from getting dinged up by kids opening doors or housewives in huge SUV's

Thanks in advance.

Breakers is just a regular parking lot, although it's restricted for use only by Breakers guests. Unless the hotel is full, the back parts of the lot are typically pretty empty.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

The dozens of seagull droppings are going to show up real good on that beauty. It will look like an inverted dalmation by the time you leave. As for the lot it's every man for himself. Kids, strollers, coolers, SUV's, minivans, people loading and unloading, the whole shooting match.

Good luck.

LOL - thanks guys...

Maybe I will sleep in the car or jack it up way in the back of the lot.

Seagulls are not the only things dropping things from the sky. I have seen many things (sunglasses, hats, maps) come flying off Dragster and come to rest on cars in the hotel lot. The best was watching a little kids hat hit a F-250 setting off its alarm.

Give it a good coat of wax before you come out, so if you do get "bombed" by the seagulls your paint will be protected. I have seen cars with covers on them in Breakers parking lot, so there is an option for you to consider!

I am parking lot cautious as well, only if people would learn how to hold on to their doors and not just fling the damn things open. Even in July/August, there are plenty of spots available way out in Breakers parking lot. I like the spots on the outskirts over by Magnums transfer track. Some of the spots are at angles so they are extremely huge, big enough that with the doors open on our SUV that they don't extend out of the space.

Just don't take up 2 spaces because that only brings negative attention your way. Then again, no matter how far you park out, you will always have someone that thinks its funny to park a piece of crap right next to you, even though there are 100's of spots available! I would never bring the Corvette to Cedar Point, just to damn picky about it, and have witnessed to many people screwing with cars in various parking lots. People will say thats why you have insurance, but if you are as picky as me, its hard to get paint to match after an "incident" so i avoid the situations if i can. One less headache to deal with!
