I found this on another message board posted by someone with an undisclosed email adress who claimed he got it from a reliable source over at Cedar Fair:
"The Point will see the removal of two coasters, and the addition of 5 new coasters this includes MF, the Point will remove Diaster Transport and in its place for 2001 will be a spinning wilmouse coaster. After that, in 2002, a B&M florless will be added to the park and it will feature somewhere around 8 inversions. Then after a break in 2003, the point will remove Blue Strak and for 2004 add a Ghostrider clone at the back of the park near the Frontier Trail. In 2005 it will be a lying down coaster either built by B&M or Vekoma and they might also add a ThrustAir 2000 in 2005 and if not then then in 2006."

SOMEONE'S GONNA GET THEIR *** KICKED IF THE BLUE STREAK LEAVES! I think that is a bunch of B.S. that you heard there, pal. I wanna know what board you heard this on, cause I wanna give those idiots a piece of my mind! Also, no E-Mail address? I think someone is ***** with you, man. Besides, there is no ******* room for another coaster anywhere near FrontierTown, with Thunder Canyon, SRF, and WWL over there, let alone a GhostRider. I think that is just a bunch of wishful thinking by some nerd.

highly doubtful, why would CP remove its landmark coaster Blue Streak? and even though we rip it up and down why remove Transport? Plus what does removing Blue Streak and a Ghost Rider coaster near the Trail have to do with each other? I think its a bnch of crap

Exactly, cheeseonastick! I think some *** is just bored and trying to get people all riled up to get his rocks off. Especially that part you said about the guy not having a definitive e-mail address. I think this is just a fake.

I could see taking out Disaster Transport, it is a 50 second ride with for some reason a 1 or 2 hour line. It really does kind of suck and the space would be better served by putting in a floorless there or even a cyclone knock off. The blue streak leaving has to be a bunch of horse hockey though, that is one of their trademarks, although other trademarks have been torn down.
They won't take out anything! I'm tellin' you guys it's a bunch of BULL! Fuhgettaboutit!

Like my New York accent?:)
I don't see a cyclone knockoff... That's Six Flags. But... I wouln't be at all surprised to see DT removed for the station and some of the lift of a B&M over the water.
That info is by no means true, but when I think about it, it seems like the kind of thing that they'd do.
*BTW Why would they add a Thrustair 2000 in 2006? A little food for thought there...

Squirrel
I doubt they'll ever build out in the water because the stress the ice would put on the steel in the winter would break it down faster than anything else

I agree with Rob henry. I think they will take that disaster ride out and put in another one there. THat ride just sucks. Everything else is very up in the air.
I say get ride of the Blue Streak and build something cool.-------------

All this seems like it could happen, except for the part about taking out Blue Streak. I think Blue Streak will be at the Point forever, it is too much of a local landmark. It is very possible that CP will remove DT and put in a Mouse if they go ahead with the rumored boardwalk project. DT would be very out of place and take up a lot of real estate. A Wild Mouse, spinning or not, would be perfect for the boardwalk.

I can see most of that except for Blue Streak, which makes no sense. BS's footprint is pretty tiny anyway.
As far as steel deally w/ ice - the Mackinac Bridge has done well in those straits for over 30 years now. All you need is concrete footers and pilings.
Jeff - that may be true, but if politics has taught me anything, someone will leak eventually. Hell, the FBI bases investigations on that fact alone.
Bunch of BS..CP has always made it a policy to not remove any coasters..that would mess with their record count..were not the #1 park in thge country for nothing!!

But sooner or later, CP will have to tear down a coaster. Jeff even said once that rides are like cars, they just wear out eventually. And some of CP's coasters are old or outdated. Look at Wildcat...it's a carnival coaster. I can't think of any other major park in the US that has a coaster of this type. It's kind of embarrassing.
Like I have always said, if CP tears down a coaster one year, they will no doubt replace it with a much better coaster. And in my opinion, that same year, they could add a small, economical coaster to keep the increase going on their coaster count. Hey, if CP tore down DT and put in a floorless, would anyone be disappointed?
Also, I never recall hearing or reading that CP would never tear a coaster down. If you believe that, show us the proof. And just for the record, I believe this 5 coaster rumor is garbage.
Well, CP HAS removed coasters in the past. ie, Jumbo Jets, Wildcat. So don't say never. Regulars to this board know I agree with Jeff 100% on this, those who know, don't talk, those who talk DON'T KNOW. The aforementioned rumors sound interesting but I highly doubt much is fact. I do feel it will be very interesting to watch CP grow/change over the next ten years. Just think back to Spring of 89 and if someone told you then CP, while in the process of building the WORLD'S HIGHEST coaster that CP would be adding 5 coasters (4 which are/were record breakers when built) we all would have thought how crazy an idea.
The best advice I can offer, sit back, hold on tight and ENJOY the ride.

Sure, but look at the lines for Wildcat. I know it doesn't have the ride/hour capacity of the bigger rides, but it is very popular. It also has a pretty small footprint, which means it can be tucked about anywhere. Also, while it may appear to be a "carnival" ride, it also lends an old-fashioned ambiance to the park as well.
