Any Rides You Have Not or Will Not Ride?

Vince982's avatar

I always refused to ride spinny rides like Witches Wheel and Chaos because I thought they would make me sick. Then a few years ago my buddy got my to ride Witches Wheel and I loved it. Since I was okay with that I tried Chaos and it's now one of my favourites.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I will not ride Mantis, It hurts too much down in "Man Land" however, I would ride Chang at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom it was not as rough, it features the same layout as mantis except you make a left turn instead of a right on the lift and Chang Has 1 more inversion.

I only need to ride Jr. Gemini to have all coasters done in the park. Woodstock is pretty awsome but does not beat the Bever Land Mine Ride at Geauga Lake.

Witches Wheel has a 54 inch height requirement, I don't care if your child rode Dragster, Magnum or, Millenium, they are not tall enough for this one!

Save The Big Dipper!

My Husband and I ONLY ride Blue Streak, Raptor, MaXair, Wicked Twister, TTD, Millenium, Magnum, Maverick, and sometimes Gemini.

We have ridden, DT, Iron Dragon, Wildcat, Mantis, SkyHawk, and Mean Streak all once or twice, but don't waste our time with them anymore.

I loved the Beaver Mine ride at Geauga Lake! that ride was a blast! It is now is Europe somewhere! It would have been a nice addition to CP!

That's how I feel about spinny rides, maybe I should try them as well. All I remember was when I was 5 years old at a park in Myrtle Beach, it was a tilt a whirl...only ride to make me sick.

with out a doubt mantis is at the top of my list for roller coasters not to ride. its only if i bring a friend that's never been to the park that i ride mantis. also, maxair i will not get on. doesn't excite, but does a good job of making me sick

My trick for Mantis is, use your body weight to get the seat down far enough that you're standing on the floor, pull the OTSR down to where you want it, then pull down on the part of the restraint directly over yours shoulders until it's snug against you, that'll drop the seat a few inches and spare your parts. It'd be helpful if the floor was flat as well, so that you could stand comfortably. Maybe they should make it floorless... ;-)

There's only one ride I refuse to go on, and that's Witches Wheel. I did ride it a couple times in the past but it pretty much ruins a good part of my day after riding it.

I used to ride Chaos all the time, but I haven't yet at it's present location. It's silly, but I haven't gotten the nerve to board that thing since the one at Michigan's Adventure fell off it's axis.

Go right through for MSU!

Speaking of Chaos, How would people compare the "dizzy" factor between Chaos and MaXair?

Go right through for MSU!

Chaos, can depending on the ride be much more dizzying then MaXair. Chaos spins in two axis and the forward/backward spinning can happen very quickly (espeically if you "help" the situation by rocking back and forth ;).) In short, I qualify MaXair as much more mild then it looks from the midway, and Chaos as the most dizzying ride at CP.

I love carnival rides that are on the ground. If they go off of the ground, I will not be getting on it. Unless it is a roller coaster of course. :) But I don't think I would consider that a carnival ride.

I am sure that Sky Hawk, Sky Scraper, and MaxAir are very fun. But to me they are just very big carnival rides. I have never and will never ride the zipper. If you cannot get me on that, you are not going to get me on Sky Scraper. lol.

Same goes for Power Tower and Demon Drop. Corkscrew is a no, for the fact that I will end up puking. Mantis and Mean Streak only if someone begs me.

The rest are fair game. I love coasters. Thrill rides on the other hand, not so much.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

I went on MaXair a few times and I LOVED it. Then the last time I went on it, I got sick to my stomach and I haven't ridden it since. Maybe its the combination of spinning while being swung in the air? Anyone else get sick from it?

So stoked for 2010 :]

Getting sick on a ride can happen for a lot of reasons. You can have a good experiences and a bad experiences on the same ride. Outside temperature, humidity, fullness of your stomach, stress, being dehydrated, all play a factor in how you feel after you get off a ride. Which is why I don't understand you guys that ride something one time and never give it another go.

^^^Bad experiences often keep people away and it applies to everything. If you eat a new type of food that was undercooked and you got sick, chances are you wont eat that again.

Why getting old is so annoying:

1. Every year gain another few pounds. Those seats and restraints get tighter and tighter.

2. Less flexibility to handle climbing into low bucket seats, e.g. Iron Dragon.

3. Can't take so many inversions anymore. Used to be that torture coasters like Drakenfire or Vortex were FUN!! and I could ride them all day. Now I get a headache after one trip on Raptor.

4. Spinning flats? Used to be okay. Now I have to focus my eyes on something relatively stationary to avoid queasy misery.

I think I'll cry if I ever stop enjoying MF, SRF or PT....

Just say no to trims
