I worked there the first two weeks of my first year, then I was off to the old CCMR.
The one thing that was kinda cool was after being on that turn table for awhile, then going to regular ground, you still felt like you were moving.
I will miss riding it, not working it.

I never worked WWL, but that was what I hated most about Thunder Canyon. Just spinning, spinning, spinning, for hours at a time...I even threw up a little in the flume once.
2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator
I loved working WWL, except at night on the lifts with the big spiders and mayflies! Those were gross.

Hey girl its Kelly your atl from this year. I hope to see many old white water landing crew members from years past up at cedar point this up and comming weekend. This is my 2nd year on white water landing. I worked a little of it last year. I will miss that ride very much. How about the mice on our ride. :)
I used to work at Frontier Inn alot and I always heard the recording of Welcome to White Water Landing (the freaky lady) but its time we say Bye Bye WWL.

Retired TL Ride Host 04-09 Miss you Cedar Point!
Ok as an old time WWL crew member, let me say that I am sorry to see it go. It was a quality family ride with just enough thrill. WAY back in 1987 I was assigned to work WWL. It was an easy ride to work, and we had lots of fun. Funniest things were when a lady with a miniskirt would try and sit on the seat while I was working load position... I think she had on furry under pants. Also working the lift position it was possible to actually catch some sleep if you had the right kind of sunglasses. Working the Chute when a storm was approaching is probably the most afraid I've been....when you watch lightning strikes out on the bay getting closer and closer, knowing you have to stay there until the ride is closed down. I loved to hide in the cave and scare people when they passed by, and also to catch a smoke in between breaks. Any stories you'd like to share. Gotta love the wet photocells (run-out, merge, etc)
Geoff,
It was my job to catch you guys trying to sleep at the lift position (and ring the red phone in the station to watch you jump). The memories of WWL are great and they always had a great crew. I also remember going up to the chute position to look at weather coming in off the bay - not a fun place to be if a quick storm approached. I also remember the pond cleanings we did at night during the summer when the ride had fresh water.
RIP WWL
