Any benefit to hitting the Causeway from First St.?

I'll be coming into town on Rt. 4 from 80/90 next Saturday and was wondering if I'd bypass any traffic by continuing up to 1st St. instead of just following the signs to Rt. 6 like most others will be doing. Or will it not really matter all that much? Haven't been there in years and wasn't driving last time so I wasn't really paying attention! :)

I come that way all the time. If you are arriving during the heavy traffic in the morning, then yes, it is a benefit to use 1st street. It also depends on the day that you go. Saturday's will be the busiest, so the most traffic.
