Like the other guys have said, it was an awesome day. This is my first trip report, so bear with me. Also, this was my first time at Cedar Point since the 2004 season.
We got there at about 10:45 AM via the Soak City entrance. I wanted to hit the Magnum up first thing, since we were so close, but the two girls with us insisted we get our hand stamped for the shortcut into the Maverick. Well, as you already guessed, we were informed that they no longer stamp your hands for any rides. :(
Anyways, I'll break down what we went on, in order and roughly what time.
1. Mean Streak (11:00AM) - only about a 10 minute wait and great way to start off the day of thrills! Not the best ride there but a sentimental favorite.
2. Maverick (1:00 or so) - sign said 1 1/2 hour wait when we entered but we had to find out for ourselves what all the buzz was about. Unfortunately, the ride shut down for about 10 or 15 minutes while we were in the middle of the line. We weren't about to bail though. We stuck out our longest wait of the day and have a great time on the ride! There was a bit of confusion on my behalf when we finally got to the ride entrance/ramp. The lady at the spinny click things asked how many and I replied "two". Then she said "number two" and I proceeded to jump into the two spot. Then I'm thinking to myself "Ohhhhh she must of thought I wanted car no. two!" LOL so then me and my buddy switched over into the one spot while. I'm not sure if she saw us or not but she didn't say anything about us moving up one spot. Anyways, FRONT CAR WAS AWESOME!!!!! WOW!!! EXCELLENT!!! 10/10 especially during the tunnel blast!
3. Power Tower X2 one up, one down (1:30) - Lines were great, we pretty much walked right on. The Power Tower ride down, IMO, is one of the scariest, if not THE scariest, rides in the entire park. Sitting in suspense, in that little chair, some 200+ feet high, is a real test of courage. Wowie Maui! I love it!
4. Top Thrill (2:45) - Ride chart said 1 hour, and that was pretty accurate considering we HAD to get a front car. Reason we had to get front car is because this was our first time riding it. The previous two trips to CP, both times the TTD was shut down all day. The wait would have only been about 40 minutes if we just took the shortest available car seat line. But this was my first time, so front was a must. The ride was amazing, even though it was over so soon. I'm a fan for sure. While we were sitting in the cars, waiting for takeoff, there was a crowd of spectators watching us. I had a good time with them, joking "Is it too late to get off the ride now?" One man said "You're friend looks really scared", which he was, to which I replied "He just pooped his pants" as I then covered my nose with my shirt. That got a good laugh out of the crowd. :)
Lunch Break. :(
5. Magnum (4:30) - 15 minute lines. Ride was a blast as always. I think I might have seen that Magnum guy from this site, however, he didn't have pink hair.
-All rides then were shut down for about 30 minutes due to a couple (I'm not exaggerating) drops of rain. T'was a bit annoying. C est la vie.
6. Raptor (6:30) - About an 1 hour wait after the line reopened. Fun ride and was suprised at the dvd replay afterwards. Had I known they were filming us, I would have been doing some funnier things.
7. Wicked Twister Sister (7:10) - 15 minute wait. Fun ride.
8. Maxair x2 (7:30) - About a 10 minute wait each time. OK, I wasn't scared to go on any of the rides prior to Maxair. Maverick? Nope. Top Thrill? Barely. MaxAir? Ohhhh yeah. I had a major case of the butterflies. The whole spinning/carnival style rides scare me for some reason. I think its cause they made me barf when I was a little kid. hehe. Anywho, I loved the ride so much that we had to do it again. WOW! I'm getting goosebumps typing about it. When it starts picking up speed and air, Ohhhh, wow what a rush! One of my new favorite rides at CP.
9. Millenium Force (9:20) - About 1 hour wait time. I was actually leaning towards not going on MF because I've been on it so many times before. Thankfully, my group talked me into and I'm glad they did. It had been awhile so I forgot how fast and sweet the force really is. The DJ in line helped shorten the wait.
10. Maverick .. 2nd time (10:45) - We got in line half hour before the park closed. Line took about 1 1/4 hours. Thats how I roll, staying as long as possible hehe. When we finally were about to get on the ride, a man dislocated his shoulder on the ride. I felt really bad for him because he looked to be in a large amount of pain and the medical staff had to be called on to get him out of his ride seat. Also, the selfish side of me wanted him to get out fast so we didn't get screwed out of riding Maverick one more time. It took a few minutes, but they got him out and I hope he is OK. His buddy was telling us that this happened to him quite a bit. Poor guy. But yeah, Maverick was a spectacular way to finish the day, in which we sat in the five car this time.
The weather was pretty darn hot at the peak hours (3-5PM) but was great during the rest of the day. Like many here have said, CP giving out basketballs was a BAD idea. I had to restrain myself from stealing these two kids ball that were in front of us at the Raptor line. I sooooooooooooo felt like re-enacting the scene with Biff from Back to the Future II "Is this is your ball? You want it? GO GET IT!!" (Throws the ball on neighbor's roof). LOL.
All in all, it was a GREAT day for CP and the lines weren't too bad at all. Gotta love when you can basically walk right up to the front of many rides.
Another note: Snake River Falls was shutdown ALL day. Boohoo. I was really looking forward to getting drenched, especially during the HOT spell.

It ain't easy being cheesy but at least roller coasters don't make me queasy.
Boozie,
I am really surprised with the wait times, not bad for a summer day! Maybe I ought to sneak down there too! Glad you liked Maverick, it is one of the best rides at the park IMO. Good choice on riding MF, that one is always worth the wait!
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
