Another 10/14 post (longer)
You may have read Hooper's post about the chaos on Saturday. And it was exactly that.
I don't get to CP much, so simply going and, after seeing the madness, leaving, was out of the question. My three friends and I got there at 11 am, and found, surprisingly, that it was practically empty. I have a broken ankle and was looking forward to using the special access times to avoid the long lines, especially MF. As a precaution anyways, we went to Park Ops and got the special access stuff, then headed for PT (dont ask why). It was closed, so we went over to MF and Mantis. MF's queue was filling quickly, so we decided to hit Mantis. They didn't open it till 12, but we still had an awesome ride. Next we hit PT twice (space shot was walk on) and then lucked out with a 15 minute wait on Magnum, then hit Gemini, followed by Mean Streak. By this time, it was almost 3, and as we walked down Frontier Trail towards MF, I could already notice the park filling up. The crowd got larger and larger, and we found MF with a full queue. Now, we decided, was time to bust out the special access. So we got a boarding time for 5:30, and headed to the front of the park. Oh my god, that walk took forever. The midway was so packed. Raptor had about a 1 hr 45 min wait, so we headed to Pharoah's (sp) Secret in DT. We waited 1 hr 5 min for it, and I have to admit, we hated it. It was extremely unorganized, and had no theming at all (the queues did). We got out, and the park was even more packed. I waited like 30 minutes to get an ICEE, and we headed to the back of the park on the railroad. Lines were huge. So we wasted time, and finally got back to MF at 5:30. Ha, it felt good passing by all those poor people waiting in line (although I did get a couple strange remarks...). We had a great ride, and got another boarding time for 8:00. We headed back to Raptor, and the park was EVEN MORE CROWDED!! I couldnt believe it. We waited ONLY 1 hr 5 min for a great night ride on Raptor, and headed back for our final ride of the season, on MF. We got 5-1 and man it was incredible. The night ride makes such a difference. The lighting was unbelievable, also. As we left the park, we found lines even larger!!! The crowd just kept growing, like a cancer or something. It was chaos, but luckily we had my broken ankle to help us (my hands were killing though after crutching through the entire park).
