It is truly amazing how many people who hang on this board were on or around the Magnum XL-200 on Saturday morning. I think it is very cool. Hello to everyone I didn't recognize up there on the hill!

For people like us, it's no big deal. We actually enjoy it. The ride again passes are more of a souveneir than anything else! :)

But look at it from the average guest perspective: You go to the park when it is crowded. You have you family in tow. So you've spent quite a bit of money just to get in. Then with the lines you don't get to ride much. Then you get stuck on a ride for a long period of time. Or even worse, you get walked down a lifthill like Magnum's and you're scared to death. After an ordeal like that, it can set you off when all they do is say "We're sorry". It's not like you're asking for a free meal or something. The passes weren't much, but they were better than nothing. What are they losing by handing them out.

Awesome story! What's really freaky to me is, I saw your second train stop, from across the Bay. I was over at Marblehead Lighthouse, taking pictures, and at that time I turned my 300mm telephoto lens toward Cedar Point. I snapped off a few pictures. I saw Skyhawk swinging, Mean Streak running, and them I turned my attention towards Maggie. I saw a train climbing the hill, and I exclaimed,"Yay, Magnum!" Soon I was interested again in watching Skyhawk, so I watched that for a few seconds. Suddenly, my wife declared,"That train on Magnum's stopped." Quickly I swung my camera towards Magnum, only to find that the train I had spotted only shortly before was not very much further, and, indeed, stopped. Evidently, that train was yours. I did not wait long enough to see anyone get off the ride, as my attention turned back to the lighthouse. I don't recall wether I got a shot of Maggie as it was stopped. Strange, though, how it is. I would have never given that moment a second thought if you hadn't posted your experience here.
