An open PLEA to CP Management (answers please?)

Unless they've moved the restrooms since the last time I was there, yes, there are bathrooms nearby. Perhaps I'm a little more active than you.

It really is nothing more than a customer service issue. If you don't mind leaving the restaurant and walking across the midway and into another building, then good for you. The civilized person prefers when they choose a restaurant to get out of the heat or rain, not to do that when they chose to eat in a sit down restaurant. If I eat in an elite restaurant (no I'm not talking about Chickie & Pete's), I don't need to use valet parking; but, I expect it for the dining experience I am paying for. The fact that management chose to close the bathroom in the first place shows the lack of customer empathy in management that I have been talking about.

Unfortunately, the restrooms were also removed from the Red Garter Saloon when the park put in many of their ADA enhancements. I don't think those restrooms were accessible.

I am curious as to what type of liquor license(s) the park has, and specifically Chickie and Pete's:

http://codes.ohio.gov/oac/4301:1-1-17

I am assuming the park has one license for the entire park (inside the gates). As such, it has plenty of on-premise restrooms.

Tony, what was your score on Guardian? Did you make it onto the wall downstairs?

The park chose to open the restaurant with bathrooms that weren't yet ready. At risk of being tagged a fanboy who thinks park management can do no wrong... I put more faith in the judgement of park management than in a handful of Internet customer service experts.

OK, I'm reading this drunk at Put-In-Bay right now and it literally just about made me puke. Talk about someone who is disillusioned, Pointguru must be the poster child.

One thing I know from my many years of visiting the park is that they do care about their guests. I've met lots of awesome people who work hard to make the park the great place it is.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

As far as Red Garter goes, the restrooms are located just outside around the corner. In that case it's no further a walk than you might take at any large bar or restaurant.

The Last Chance Saloon and the Palace Theatre might be a slightly different story, as the nearest restroom is a few yards away. (unless theres restrooms inside, but I don't recall that there is) Now I'm sure there are a few guests that belly up to the bar and stay (who could afford that?), but most grab their drinks and go, sit for a quick sandwich and a beer, or are there as long as the show runs then clear out. So, maybe it's not such an issue as it is at C&P's.

I haven't seen Trail Tavern yet to know what kind of traffic comes through there, but from the pics it looks like they're set up for comfort and guests might stay a while. In that case the RR's are further down the trail, and for the beer drinkers it may not be so great.

Talk about someone who is disillusioned, Pointguru must be the poster child.

Personally I save myself a lot of trouble and just skip his posts.

A) Management didn't choose to close the bathroom. Management chose to open a restaurant, knowing that the bathrooms would have to open later in the season.

B) Not catering to you does not equal park management lacking empathy for customers. Maybe I don't have an MBA, but I'm pretty sure you don't get to be as successful an amusement park as Cedar Point is by lacking empathy for your customers.

^
By this logic, Donald Sterling isn't a racist because he is a billionaire and owns (for now) an NBA franchise. Is it really that hard to admit I was right even when the park itself admits it is making changes because to fix a problem it created in the first place?

The problem is, if we say you're right about one thing, you'll start thinking you're right about everything.

Oh wait.....never mind. ;)

I'll be happy to admit you're right, my dear Pointguru, the day you accomplish that feat.

^^ Come on, Adam, you and I both know we don't have to do anything for that to happen. ;)

Pointguru I can assure you that YOUR posting on this site had nothing to do with Cedar Point fixing the restrooms at C&P. That decision was made long before the they opened. It is just taking longer than a expected.

BTW, do we know if they will, in fact, open this season? Tony merely said that planning was underway. When will construction begin (hopefully not in September after the park closes on weekdays)?

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

You are correct that management has given no timetable for re-opening the restrooms. Just as they have given no indication that they had any plan to re-open them at all until posters on this site brought it to their attention. If they had planned to re-open the restrooms they could have merely placed an "out of order" sign on the restroom or "pardon out dust" please excuse the inconvenience and use the restroom down the midway while renovations are completed. Of course not doing so is a clear indication management never had any intention of opening the restrooms. At best not communicating that intention to customers is yet another case of bad management. It also doesn't explain why they couldn't have made plans and renovations during the off season in time to have functioning restrooms by now. Perhaps they are planning on unveiling the plans as part of an announcement for whats new in 2015. Sorry folks, no new shiny coaster or family attraction because the park has big plans for the new restrooms at Chickie & Pete's.

How fascinating. I was unaware that Cedar Fair had outsourced monitoring closed park bathrooms to Pointbuzz.
