Pee in my Cheerios… I suppose that is as good of analogy as any. Yes, if you have read any of my post, CP management pee’s in my Cheerios virtually every visit to the park.
I understand there is clearly a level of frustration there. There are things I'm not overjoyed with either. However, I don't come away from "virtually every visit" frustrated and angry. If I did, I would find something else to do recreationally. Fish. Golf. Go boating. Visit museums, zoological parks, or horticulture gardens. Hike. Basically, what I'd stop doing is going and spending money somewhere that I felt was consistently providing me below average service. I don't care how much you claim to love it or what it means to you, because under those circumstances, it is more harmful than good. Just observations.
I took a look at their menu last time I was there and was disappointed there was no famous LOBSTER ROLL and am not intrigued by the ordinary fare (might try these Old Bay Fries) but that's just me.
It's a pain there is no restroom in that pocket area, period. I didn't go to Game Day Grille so was unaware there was one then. I can't imagine trying to eat at C & P and not being able to wash your hands for a sit-down restaurant meal.
Although, one poster before has a point that everyone gets washed up and pottied before sitting down to eat. Many times last year we ate in the car, there are no restrooms in the parking lot.
However, the general public would not suspect this sit-down restaurant wouldn't have a restroom either, and if they wanted to continue to eat there, they would have to learn to adapt to it. Still rather a big inconvenience and there are equally palatable and more accommodating places to eat than C & P.

To me, this is the biggest issue.

Except you still need to touch door handles, money, etc., after you've washed your hands.

… because you don’t need to throw the baby out with the bathwater (if there was a bathroom) :). John Oliver also did a bit on his last HBO episode about FIFA and the World Cup that perfectly describes my feelings on the park. It is really just a matter of being able differentiate love for the park and recognize bad management.

...that allows for a decision to be made to allow a sit down restaurant in the park to even open without proper restroom facilities. It is disgraceful and whoever “green lighted” the decision to close the old bathroom needs to have their head examined...
I think it's hilarious that it's "disgraceful and head-examination-worthy" about bathrooms here, but last week the park needed it's head examined because the restrooms in the entire park weren't working and they didn't set up port-a-potties everywhere.
Don't bitch about a lack of proper restroom facilities when you were bitching that we didn't need them last week.

Customer Service 101 also says you ignore the constant complainer. They can never be satisfied. How do I know--I'm in customer service. Complain once or twice and we make it good. Complain three times we make it good but start to question "why?" Complain the fourth time and we ask you not to come back.

LOL, true. At least I am being consistent because I at least wanted water and restrooms brought in. Thanks for re-enforcing my point The park didn't need to close.
This is already being discussed http://pointbuzz.com/forums/Thread/30722.aspx
PointGuru, no way am I re-enforcing your point. What I'm saying is, "stay away, you're not welcome here!"
When I first heard that C&P was going in the old Game Day building I was actually expecting a complete gut job and remodel like they did with Starbucks, which hopefully would have included new restrooms as the Game Day restrooms were pretty bad. Unfortunately, what happened was basically a minor facelift with a menu change, along with closed restrooms. I like the C&P concept, and the food is pretty good, it really needs a proper remodel though. And a sitdown restaurant without proper restrooms is pretty lame, I'm surprised they would open without those facilities.

You see, what you fail to realize is management is really smart and makes nothing but brilliant decisions. The fact that you disagree with a decision or policy that they made (no matter how logical, reasonable, or well stated your thoughts may be) just means you are stupid or a troll.
In your haste to perpetuate that myth, you failed to realize this thread is yet another great example at how the park's biggest fans aren't afraid to be critical.
My opinion... if an eatery at an amusement park has tables inside and air conditioning, they should also have a restroom.
Touché Walt, okay I admit that may have been a slight exaggeration. However, it is strange that so much venom is directed at me when I say nothing more that other posters did. Credit to those regulars who criticized the obvious. When do you think park management will wake up and admit their mistake or fix the problem?

I think this might be where the disconnect is. That you consider your suggestions (RE: water main break response) to be not only reasonable, but shared by more than one or two others in the community, is incredibly telling.

I'm going to wager a guess that it is the health department that won't let them open the pre-existing bathrooms and not a park decision. If that is the case then the park is left in the position of either closing said restaurant until the fix is made or keeping it open, thus making money, and dealing with the status quo a bit.
I'm hopeful that in the case of the original poster the restaurant replaced his meal or offered him a refund if they cleared his table when he wasn't finished.

I'm going to wager a guess that the park had previously received comments or complaints about the old bathrooms. Instead of fixing the bathrooms when they remodeled for Chickie & Pete's, they just said "screw it" if people want to complain we will just close the bathroom and make them leave the restaurant to do their business. No way did the health department have anything to do with it. Strictly a park decision. I will say I blame Chickie & Pete corporate also. It does sound a little strange someone from the company would say something like bad bathrooms are better than none. I'm not even going to hazard a guess as to what type of deal was made to put Chickie & Pete's name on the building but I'm surprised that insisting on a functional bathroom wouldn't be a deal breaker.
I highly doubt anyone at the park in a planning meeting for Chickies & Pete said "screw it".
How would you know that the health department did not have anything to do with it? Are you an expert in the restaurant industry now also?
It's best you don't hazard a guess about anything because what usually comes out is idiotic stupidity.
