That is an awesome idea Ensign. It would be great to see that idea come to life. Someone oughta start making suggestions to the park.
But I do love all of your ideas. The should do something really cool to the tube parts of the track. The pieces that are outside the rooms. Paint the overhead tube like the sky in blacklight paint, and line the sides of the tube with blacklights. That would look really nice in my opinion.
And then theme each room to some other part of Snoopy. Like you said, this could very easily be done like the conversion of Old Mill to Garfield's Nightmare at Kennywood.

Only one problem. You're getting on a ride named Disaster Transport which isn't exactly fitting for a Peanuts-themed ride...unless you want guests to be under the impression that they're about to get on a Peanuts-themed ride that is about to go horribly wrong.
How about Peanuts Disaster???????LOL
I think halltd has a point about the speed. I guess my thinking was that with the lights on, it's really not as fast as it seems with them out...sort of the Space Mountain thing. So right there, theming ought to be at least a little more visible than with DT's current format. It might take a whole lot of creative thinking and design work to really pull it together, more than was put into the original. But I still think it could be doable, to have theming that could be appreciated at speed.
As far as being to touch the floor of the car and brace oneself, I don't know what would be required to retrofit. How many cars does DT have, anyway?
What would be really cool would be to fill the tubes and chambers with Peanuts music. Ah, Vince Guaraldi. :)

How many do they have? Five. How many do they ever run anymore? Three.

The best idea yet is to tear it down.

Good idea Ensign, but I don't know if it makes sense financially for Cedar Point. They have never been a park that is geared towards little kids, unlike PKI. That explains why CP's regular junior ticket is cheaper than PKI's fall junior ticket. Just tear it down and build a good coaster in its place. I rode DT once and plan to not ride it ever again.

Last year when I worked it, there were a total of 7 trains numbered 2-8 (Shuttle 1 is in the "Repair Bay"). We would run five on the course at any one time, but with un-imaginable intervals, all 7 could theoretically run (there are nine blocks).
That being said, a retrofit would be difficult, but not impossible. The easier idea would be to get new shuttles/trains.
I do agree that would be a great idea! However, CP would only have 17 coasters still, not 18!

Tell that to my 46" tall little guy and all the others like him that love DT! :) I would agree with you though, but only if they replace it with a better coaster that has the same height rquirement (or even as small as 42" as mentioned in the beginning post). Better yet, enclose enough miday to have a year-round indoor amusment park with an indoor coaster that the entire family can ride together. :) :)
I actually like the ride, it could use a MAJOR update in the Que and a few areas of the ride, but otherwise I actually like the ride.

I'm not saying that the ride doesn't address a certain demographic, I'm saying it's a big ugly warehouse on a beautiful beach. In fact, the trees behind it have grown large enough now that it would be quite beautiful there if that ugly monstrosity wasn't there.

Then would you be more okay with it if the exterior were made more aesthetically pleasing?

Oh, and by the way everybody (or almost everybody), thanks for all the positive feedback. :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
No, the ride was ugly even when it was not enclosed. I say put a nice little spinning coaster in that spot, like Spinning Dragons. Maybe expand and renovate the food seating around Space Spiral as well. Really dress up that whole area.
