An attempt to "Get to the Point"

Well, the day started off normal. Our group of friends met around 6:30 and we got into 3 different cars and headed for Cedar Point. When we got about 1 mile out of our small town, one of my friends who was infront of me slowed down and pulled to the side of the road. I thought maybe he forgot something so I slowed down to pull over. Well, all of the sudden - BOOM!!!! We got hit in the back by our other friend and my car rolled forward very quickly and I tried to miss the car infront of me, which was now parked. I couldn't turn fast enough and we struck the side of the car, airbags deployed and we ended up in the ditch. I was driving my dads new car and I was shaking and could barely stand up. I just stared at the 3 wrecked cars and then my dads and thought the world was going to end ;)
About 2 minutes later, a cop arrived and then another 3 minutes we had 4 police cars, 2 EMS's, a fire truck, State Patrol, and the cops had to redirect traffic around us. It was a huge scene.
In the end, everyone (13 in total. Yes, 13 ;) ) was OK and the car that struck me had to be towed. My car was wrecked in the front kind of bad, but the back crush zone did its job. I only had a burn on my arm from the airbag and the car I struck after being struck from behind was only mildly damaged.
We are going to try to go to The Point on Thursday (May 31, 2001). Maybe we will have more than one big ride! :)

And if it's any consolation,,, I know what it feels like to wreck your Dads car....the world didn't end for me either! But that didn't stop me from thinking again that it was all over the second time I wrecked it! Hopefully you will not have that experience too!

OMG! So sorry that happened! I was in a broadside accident in August and lost my car. I remember walking around screaming in the road thinking the world WAS going to end..I know the feeling. A week later on the way to the park as "therapy" from losing my car, Mantomatic and I got into in accident and totalled HIS car! Glad to hear you're okay...accidents are HORRIBLE :-(

Reason #1 my teenager NOT allowed to even TOUCH my truck (not just my teenager-NO one allowed to drive my truck but ME) Yea Im selfish when it comes to my truck---I failed sharing in kindergarten.
