I disagree. As much fun as it is to watch a BMXer wipeout on YouTube, its even more fun in person. Not to mention that the rest of Cedar Point’s Live E shows arent really hurting for an audience. So if something that is more fast paced and has action, it should have no problem drawing a crowd.

I really shouldn't have to go back and say I'm sorry, because those of you who work hard know that I don't talk to you, but there are many more low quality employees than there are good ones, unfortunately. I'm not sorry you took it personally, but I was referring to the lack of quality labor that CP employs, though that blame is mostly on their treatment of their employees.

I would personally have loved to see this show used to entertain people in waiting lines rather than in the stadium.

Haha i think this is going to be a great addition to the park. I ride freestyle bmx myself (hence the user name) and have been riding since i was 11. I wish I lived closer so i could have maybe tried out for one of the spots in the show. I cant think of anything better than being paid to do what I love, at a place that I love lol.

Oh and about the injuries. Im sure CP will have something planned to help protect the riders. If not then they better have an army of bmx riders as back up. Crashing happens constantly in bmx and its just soemthing you cant avoid.

I went to woodward camp to train for 5 summers in a row. They had what is called a "resi-pit". Basically it is what looks to be a normal jump, but instead of the landing being concrete or wood, its made out of wrestling mat materials. Then on top of that is a heavy sheet of plastic. It allows the rider to perform the tricks just like being on a regular jump, without the dangers of hurting himself in case of a fall. It is extremely fun to ride and essential for dialing in big tricks.

This show isn't operated by cedar point, just like the diving show wasn't. I was in the diving show, and to get into it i had to contact the outside company. that and i was literally the only person that lived near cedar point in the show, i'm sure a lot of people in this new show will have rent a house. the divers called it the "dive shack" ha ha. my point being that living far away shouldn't completely discourage you from trying it out. I'd really try to find out who is running the show, and contact them. I really miss the diving show, but i'm a decent inline skater, so i might look into this show as well. does anyone know the company that is running this show? i do know its the same company that does the ice skating show, if that helps.

Just wondering, what will a laser do if it comes in contact with an operating ride? If that's the reason why they had to close rides in the front of the park because the laser show was on.

I think its more to keep the lasers out of the eyes of guests who are riding those rides.

I think one possible explanation for closing the rides during the show is guest safety. Ride hosts are responsible for the safe operation of the attraction. If there was loud music, lasers, and strobe lights, it would distract the ride hosts from focusing on the task at hand.

Actually Im pretty sure the only reason they close Wildcat, the Train and Iron Dragon is due to the crowded midway that disrupts flow into and out of those rides.

The Space Spiral and Giant Wheel I believe closed when Hot Summer Lights, otherwise known as Snoopy's Summer Spectacular, still had lasers because many of them were focused in the immediate direction of those rides and there would be potential for injury to guests on those rides if they came in contact with one of those beams.

It's good to see that the stadium will be getting some use.

^^ I'm not sure if the Giant Wheel always closed. I think at some point the re-aimed the lasers to not hit the wheel because I definitely remember watching the show while riding the wheel at some point.
