All Season Fast Lane for $849

I just finalized mine. Will be curious to see if/when they sell out. I was nosing around the other Cedar Fair websites and they were generally sold out. Exception being Kings Island.

I finalized mine.

I'm trying to justify it to myself, considering that I don't want to wait in lines after a day of auditing work at the park and that it'll be my last year at the park before I graduate college (who knows where I'll end up after that). Or maybe that's just me fighting future buyer's remorse. Oh well, it'll be a great season anyway!

Amusing how Dorney Park is only $200 (granted BIG difference between that and CP). There are also other notable Cedar Fair parks with all season FL still available like Canada's Wonderland, Knott's Berry Farm and before mention Kings Island. I think CP will surely sell out some point.

Not only is Dorney's overall ride lineup smaller, but I don't think I have ever seen a real need for Fastlane at that park. Whereas the argument could be made that it is noticeably beneficial on more than half of Cedar Point's operating days.

Dorney's was $125 if purchased last fall. It's almost worthless on the ride side except Wild Mouse and Thunder Canyon. The real value for it is in the water park where slides like Aquablast can have a 45 minute wait even on a weekday.

Good point. If you frequent Dorney’s waterpark, it is a good deal

So, if they sell 500 of these, how will they know how many daily FL passes they will be able to sell or is it just sell as many as they can? If I spent $850 on this PLUS around $410 for the platinum pass, Funpix, food and drinks passes, I'd be going here as often as possible. The regular lines AND the FL lines could become pretty awful. On a Sunday in the fall, and not Columbus Day weekend, between the FL passes they sold and the ones they gave away to season pass renewals, the FL line for SV was out, well onto the midway and was said to be over an hour long. Sundays in the fall USED to be some of the best days of the year to visit but, they keep pushing FL one way or another. If anyone really believes CP is doing anything other than selling or giving away as many FL passes as they can is just kidding themselves.

I will NOT be buying a Cedar Fair season pass for next year and would not have purchased one for this year had they announced this last year. This move is very deceitful on Cedar Point's part. I tolerated their crappy handling of FL and the random number of riders they would allow at a time, but this is bound to be a serious cluster bleep that I won't be tolerating in 2020. I may go one time if I can get the $45 ticket that includes parking, admission, a meal and a drink and go one time per year. It's just amazing that 6 Flags has an "unlimited" Flash Pass, but I rarely ever notice it but Cedar Point and other CF parks rub your nose in the fact that you don't have FL and make you fully aware it. Dragster is a huge example of that, now.

That Sundays in the fall are busier now than many years ago has nothing to do with FL. It is common knowledge that if the weather is decent during HW, the park will almost certainly be packed. It is also not a new thing that on busy days the most popular rides will have long lines. I'm sure a lot of us here miss the days of light crowds in late September, but those days were long gone before FL/FLP came along.

In what way are they deceiving anyone?

Math. When an All-Season FLP pass holder scans their card at the gate, they can subtract that from the number of allotted FLP passes they had planned to sell that day. Under such a scenario, will there be some rare cases where they sell out of FLP passes and a few All-Season FLP pass holders enter the park later in the day? Sure. But not enough to make it a "cluster bleep".

Zoug, you’re kidding yourself if you think that 500 season long Fast Lane ticket holders are going to noticeably detract from your experience.

Please don't buy a pass next season, one less person in front of the rest of us.

I hope fast lane is still open in the 1 o clock hour, I would like to arrive at that time during 10PM closing or later days.

Zoug68- At least you don’t have Mako’s MCBR and CP’s super deceitful Fast Lane in the same Park... That could be enough to make you quit the hobby altogether!

The story I heard last season was that the parks that offered this started with a cap of 500. I'm not sure if they sold out at every park, but at Kings Island and Carowinds they did and then later decided to sell more. My guess would be that they are monitoring the daily usage and have a certain number in mind that they are comfortable with.

Kings Island's cost $500 last year and is $550 this year.

People are still shocked that a business is trying to make money for the security of the future, the employees, and the shareholders. It is obvious the park will be super busy this season compared to last year. That is without a question. It has nothing to do with Fast Lane. In all honesty, I think the all season FL deal is priced very fair.

I'm not disagreeing that they will likely have a good year.

I'm just wondering what makes you, without question, think it will be super busy compared to last year?

I also agree that ASFL+ is very fairly priced and that FL as a whole has nothing to do with overall attendance.

I think with the pre season deals such as the “buy 2 tickets for the price of 1” that many people took advantage of them. Especially the wildcard for only $59. I for one haven’t seen ticket offers that low recently.

To be honest, I shouldn’t really sound so sure that the park will be super busy compared to last year, but I do strongly believe that these pre season deals have allowed people to see that the discounts are there. You don’t have to pay full priced gate admission.

Good point, they are definitely giving more of a focus with the deals to the early part of the season which had to be their worst aspect last year.

Agreed.

Captain Obvious strikes again! If you don't want to go to the park, don't go. Generally speaking, midweek ain't busy. If it's raining go bet on horses @ the Thirsty Pony. Experience has shown me that getting to the water park early (it's more fun on a hot day) is always a plus.

Waiting in line on a sweltering August afternoon is miserable. So don't go to the park on a hot August afternoon! Get to the waterpark early, drink a few adult beverages and enjoy the park when it empties out. I adore the coasters, but I really enjoy the waterpark. Either one is super fun and an escape. A season pass @ less than 200 plus a 100 dollar all season dining pass is a bargain.

Of course, my work lets me get weekdays off. Not everyone can do that; I get it.
