All-Season Fast Lane

So, at Canada's Wonderland you can now add all-season Fast-Lane-plus to your pass for $499...valid only at CW.

Just curious how many Cedar Point passholders would pull the trigger on this, should the park make a similar offer. I, for one, would not, but that could also be due to our visits being strategically placed during less-busy times.

Note, this is also not vaild during Haunt, if that makes a difference.

We would not be pulling the trigger on that deal. As with you, we rarely encounter the park with crowds and waits that would justify $500 per person to better the experience.

Absolutely not for that price.

I'd consider it at a more reasonable price but not at that price.

I'd also consider prepaying for one or two fast lane when I renew my pass for the upcoming season.

Its kind of an odd question, as CW's fast lane is half the price of CP's.

CP's would be $1000?

I'd buy it at $500 for FL+ for CP, $1000 probably not

I would not be purchasing it. I just don't see the value in it for me since I'm here every weekend. I can ride what I want and much as I want.

I don't have a problem with the price point. If someone wants to add this, then let them step up and pay for it.

No, I wouldn't. Since I go to the park many times throughout the season, I just don't see the value in it at any price. FL+ is more ideal for those who are only there once a year or less. If a particular ride has a long wait on one visit, there's always next time. But that's not the case for one-time visitors.

I wouldn't either. I go to CP often enough that over the course of the season I get to ride everything with a decent wait just not all on any given day. Yesterday the park was dead.I could have ridden much more than I did but I was tired. Fastlane would have made no difference since aside from Iron Dragon VR we spent more time walking than standing in line. I also have an issue with price not so much that it would not be appropriately priced because I believe something like that should cost a pretty big chunk of change but it just doesn't fit with my income level and budget. If I had a considerably larger income and the only days I could get off work were the weekend it might be more enticing but I don't work summers at all so that's not an issue for me.

I'm sure this is just an experiment to see how many fish will bite. It will be interesting to see if it does catch on, only because from my perspective season-pass holders are by far not the target consumer base for fast-lane. Then again, sell 1,000 or so of these across your pass-holder base and you've made a significant dime.

I like the idea. Just as renewals are the lowest price at the end of the season, I would add a few FLP for a discounted price, and pay over 9 months. Make it an add on similar to the dining and drink plans.

That said, $50 for a prepaid FLP is about the most I'd pay.

Is there a limit on how many they're going to sell??? That's a lot of rides with bad capacity plus a high base of season pass holders...

It has been my experience, though limited over two visits, that not as many people buy Fast Lane at CW compared to CP. I was at CW about three weeks ago with Fast Lane Plus. The entire Leviathan queue was filled, maybe a 1 1/2 hour wait and I was able to marathon the ride for about two hours because the Fast Lane queue was a 5 minute or less wait. I don't see a season Fast Lane working or necessary at CP because of the high percentage of sales.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I'd actually say $500 for season long Fastlane at CP would be too low of a price given what they are able to get for the daily one and how many people buy them. Even if I wasn't among them, I'd be worried too many people would go for it. Maybe I'm wrong and that wouldn't be the case because CP is more of a destination park and people come from further away and come less often than a large metro area park like CW or even KI. But then again, I thought I heard that season passes were counting for over 50% of the admissions at CP recently, so that goes against that theory.

I usually get the FL bands for us at CP once or twice a year and I think they were around $75 the last few times I did. For 4 people that'd be $600 which is still a long way from $2000 for an all season FL pass. Also the $500 is at CW pricing, if CP were to ever try something like this I would be willing to bet they'd be more expensive.

All-Season Fast Lane Plus is just $199 at Carowinds. Fury, here I come!

For 500 I would pull the trigger. It's right around what I spend on them a season to begin with.

But as said above for CP it would likely be double, if I lived closer to the point I could easily justify the price mainly because now I'm not dropping thousands at Breakers.

It's a sweet spot offer and I can see some folks going for it.

I'm curious how often (if ever) CP sells out of fast lane.

I suspect they might try selling all season fast lane as a way to generate extra income without hurting fast lane sales.

If they price it too low or sell too many all season fast lane they risk having fast lane lines too long or selling out too often.

If they price it right they generate extra revenue without hurting the fast lane experience.

Also consider the pass holder that does currently buy fast lane during the season. These pass holder won't be buying daily fast lane anymore which will be a drop in daily fast lane sales. However those visitors may spend that money elsewhere in the park.

Fast Lane Plus came in handy for our trip last week. We got it for one of the 3 days when stayed at the park. At 95 bucks I thought it wasn't bad, BUT at the same time the lines where all that bad on the day we had it. It really only came in handy on Maverick, Valravin and at some point of the day on MF. Gatekeeper the line was just as long for the normal line as it was for Fast Pass. I can see the fast pass being more worth it on a weekend.

$500 per person is some serious coin on top of the season pass though

Not even in the least bit interested. I would rather add the dining plan to my pass, with my existing drink plan they a FL pass. I figured the early entry with my platinum pass is good enough, because I can get in 3-4 rides in that one hour. I usually can time when to go on certain rides with the shortest wait times (mid-afternoon).
