All Jacked Up

Blackjack train has arrived.

We are getting close.

If they need a test dummy, I volunteer.

That doesn't rhyme at all.

You're the one who said it. Not us.

Now that a train is on-site, I feel whole again.

I guess you get kudos for the pun thread name.

Honestly, I can't wait to see what the whole train looks like, restraints, seats, and all.

Those gate prices though. Wow! At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see it over 100 in 8 years.

If you pay gate prices to get into the park, you deserve to pay $100.

I would be interested to know how many people, or what percent of them, pay at the gate per year. from the lines I've seen i'm sure there are a whole lot of people who do that.

I think so too. Online purchases might be cheaper but I’ve known many people who sucked in to the FL+ because the website makes it seem like it’s something you should probably do. It’s an upsell that comes with phrases like “Limited number” and “These sell out”.

I like and use FL+ (a lot) but we’ve all identified plenty of days when it’s not necessary.

I bought at the gate twice last year for guests. I had checked online but with the “processing fee” it ended up cheaper at the gate. One was around $27 and the other about $40, I don’t think I was getting a discount due to my platinum pass but I could be wrong.

What was $27 or $40?

There is a platinum discount. It varies based on the day. This year is anywhere from $30 - $45? (i'm not sure of the top end price.)

Depending on when you were there, I guess you could have paid $27. I'm not aware of the pricing from last year. If you did pay those prices, it was definitely a platinum discount.

The price of a ticket at the gate for a guest we brought that day.

Yeah I was really surprised at the $27 price that day as I was expecting to pay more like $40. I had checked online the day prior and it wasn’t listed as a bring a friend day. Maybe the the sales associate just liked me, that happens a lot, :D

Also: Don’t single day entry tickets still incur the $6 processing fee? Makes online for one ticket kind of high but not so bad if you are buying multiple.

Last edited by Cargo Shorts,

Ah. Yeah I’ve seen a few days where the bring a friend price was a steal.

The online processing fee is now $6.99 per order, so add that if you’re buying tickets online. That may make it cheaper to buy a single ticket through AAA or Meijer or something like that.

Just curious, on bring a friend day does the passholder's guest get in early entry?
