Alcohol Rules

What is the policy at the CP for beers? Can I drink a few and get on a ride? I'm not talking about getting smashed. But say I had a few at the Red Garter and went to get on MF? Are the ride ops going to give me a hard time? I'm sure on or five of you on this site have done it.

As long as you're not visibly drunk (or an angry drunk) they won't have a problem. You also cannot take your drink into line with you.

Just don't be that guy at Disney. :)

Let's Get Weird.

I have never had any problems even when trying to become a member of the gallon club. I went to the park a couple times with someone who likes to drink. One trip we decided we would each try to drink a gallon of beer during the day. We hit a big wall at 112 ounces and we both had to quit. We were still riding coasters and I even managed a Witches Wheel after all of that.

My group of friends and I have been going to CP every year for my B-Day in September. We have never had a problem and we are all pretty tipsy. Just don't be stupid and if you can't handle your alcohol then please don't be "that guy!" And please no underage drinking!!! Don't ruin it for the rest of us that like "drinking and riding!" The only thing that sucks is you can't drink in line and you can't get out of line to break the seal if ya know what I mean... Hence why I love Busch Gardens. I would highly recommend TTD tipsy... Adrenaline rush times a million.

I would also recommend checking out the town of Sandusky. They have some really cool dive bars. I can't remember the name, but one had live jazz music and was really cool! The locals are super nice, well, thats because we probably bought a round of shots for everyone and they could tell we were from the South aka Richmond, VA. HAHA

I thought they changed the rule about drinking in line last season? Or did that not work out so well?

You can drink in line just have to have it finished before you hit the ramps for the ride just like food.

Can you bring in your own beers or do you have to get it there? Can I maybe sneak a drink in in a Circle K cup?

I agree with the title of this thread. Alcohol does rule. :-)

I recall seeing ALOT of drinking last year in line. Especially Mavericks

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

^^^It would be a lot cheaper that way, but unfortunately not. I think you can only bring in bottled water.

And I too saw a lot of people with beer in line last year. I've been known to stop at either saloon (Last Chance or Red Garter) and grab a nice cold one before getting in line for Millennium Force or Maverick. It really was a wise decicion to allow people to bring beer in line. In seasons when it wasn't allowed, I always saw at least one person get turned away from a queue because they had a beer. They usually ended up chugging 70% of it and tossing the rest.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I can't say I've noticed an increase in malted hop consumption season to season, but am I the only one that notices a difference between summer days and Halloweekends? In July people give me the "I'm pretty sure he's not allowed to do that" look while walking down the midway with a shandy, yet in October its like a tailgate party.

One thing I've always liked was the variety of choice in the on tap selection. Everything from Bud heavy & Molson to Blue light & Jacks Pumpkin Spice can be found depending on the time of year.

If you really want to hit the sauce without straying too far from the park, try Louie's just off the causeway. Beware that the townies will occasionally become rabid, should you wear paraphernalia from the superior place of learning to the north.

Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."

You can't bring in any alcoholic beverages in the park it's a violation of the liquor law in accordance with their liquor license also counts for the picnic area too but that is very little regulated until someone calls it in.

I remember last October, in line for Diamondback, a couple was drinking beer. Within a few minutes, 3 cops showed up and told them they couldn't drink beer in line. From there it escalated into a shouting match. It'd be a lot easier if ya let people drink.

The rules about drinking in line at CP changed a few years ago to allow people to do it. I'm pretty sure you are still allowed to drink in line unless something changed and I didn't hear about it.

I hate seeing alcohol in the lines. If someone wants to drink, that's fine. Just finish it before hand. I hate the smell of it as much as I hate smoking. Add to that the possibility of having it spilled on me while in line is not a pleasant experience. Once you're corralled in there like cattle, it only takes one little bump and it's done.

The Dangers of Second-Hand Alcohol Smell, Tonight at 11

;)

Seriously though, how is the end result of getting beer spilled on you any different than getting soda spilled on you? You could argue that someone drinking beer might be more likely to spill than someone drinking soda, but in that instance, the risk comes from the douche bag consuming the beverage, not the beverage itself.

Those of us who can responsibly consume alcohol around the park shouldn't have to be restricted due to the actions of what I can only assume is a very tiny minority of irresponsible people.

Alcohol doesn't spill on people, people spill on people? ;)
