Afterhours Fun

What do people do in their off time at CP? I've only been there once, and that was in high school, so I definitely don't know the area. Is there cool stuff to do in Sandusky, or do people mainly chill around the dorms?

Well if you're off work while the park is open, hanging out there is always fun. There's also lots of day trips around the area for days off. If you search around, there's some older threads loaded with day trip ideas.

As for after the park closes, it can be hard to find stuff, especially if you're under 21. Most places in town close pretty early (some restaurants even close before the park does, which seems really stupid when so many people are going to be driving past). Diana's Deli and Steak n Shake are the only 24 hour places, but they can get quite busy. Buffalo Wild Wings usually stays open till midnight. For the drinking crowd, there was always Louie's. They're under new management now, so nobody quite knows what that's going to be like this year.

Year, theres bars to go to, that you can just hang out and such. Lots of times I would go to a friends place and watch movies, or go out to eat. Sleeping is a lot of fun too, but theres always gonna be something to do.

That's cool. I mean, I go to school in a really small town so I definitely know how to find fun when there isn't anything going on. And I'm turning 21 two weeks after I get there so I guess I'll be spending that at Louie's :)

If you're willing to take a short walk, Lyman's is a great place to drink and dance. Club X is the GLBT club in Sandusky, but it is a lot of fun for everyone. Louie's was always the cheapest and easiest way to go, but as was already mentioned, new management leaves it as an unknown. Otherwise there are many bars and restaurants around Sandusky to enjoy, and Toledo and Cleveland are both about an hour away.
