Advice on directions?

As much as I like to see the nice houses on the causeway I never get on it and keep heading streight because it is much faster.

Sorry Walt, I didn't open the link in your post to see what directions were given. Usually the directions for most sites are okay but I never realized that your guys' directions were right on the money on here.Again I apologize.

Yeah Walt, it took us about the same time to drive up the causeway maXair media day as it did you to drive down the Chaussee.

As for Mapquest, I've never really gotten 'bad' directions. Not always the most direct, but a simple 'reality' check on their maps or another map can help you find better/more direct routes.

The time you save by taking the chaussee (which I will still call the old causeway) is usually saved when you get to the toll plaza. On normal days, there's no one at the toll plaza on the old causeway side. But, there's usually a backup on the new causeway side. That's why I always avoid the "main entrance."

Like clone said, only more intelligible-

You'll save yourself a few minutes if you hop off the Ohio turn pike at St Rt 57 in Elyria.

Get off the turnpike at exit 145, Rt 57 in Elyria. Head north toward Lorain. About a mile and a half down the road, exit to the LEFT to get on I-90/St Rt 2 west bound. At the Rt 2/I-90 split, keep right on Rt. 2, otherwise you'll end up back on the turnpike.

Continue west to the Rye Beach Road exit. Turn right at the light. At the next light (about 500 feet), turn left on St. Rt. 6. Continue on Rt. 6 past the airport (you may pass a sign that says "Cedar Point, Right" but don't turn there.) until you get to the causeway at Castaway Bay.

Taking Rt. 250 all the way from the turnpike is a pain.

It's like voting for President. Do it as many times as you can and maybe then somebody will pay attention. ;)

I've been looking at Google Maps (hey, I like Google, what can I say?) and was wondering if the following is a good way to get to the Point.

Origin : West Bloomfield, MI
Destination : Sandusky, OH

M-5 to I-275
I-275 to I-75
I-75 to I-280
I-280 to OH Turnpike
OH Turnpike to OH-4
OH-4 to OH-2
OH-2 to Rye Beach
Rye Beach to W Cleveland
W Cleveland to Cedar Point Rd

Sorry if this has been stated, but I haven't seen anything specifically from Michigan posted on here and want to see my state's name on my screen! Haha jk jk its just that last time I went 250 seemed a bit of a pain to me, too, though I hadn't realized much before.

Coming from Michigan, I take 75 to 280. When you get on 280 there is a detour through toledo, pay attention to the signs here. I then get on 2 and take that to 4 if im going to straight to the park or 250 if im stopping at my hotel first. Taking 4 to Monroe street and making a right turn will then take you to the causeway.

Oh cool, 280 goes onto 2? Nice!!
